I've nominated the article Space Shuttle Constitution for deletion under the Articles for deletion process. We appreciate your contributions, but in this particular case I do not feel that Space Shuttle Constitution satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion. I have explained why in the nomination space (see What Wikipedia is not and Deletion policy). Your opinions on the matter are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Space Shuttle Constitution. Don't forget to add four tildes (~~~~) at the end of each of your comments to sign them. You are free to edit the content of Space Shuttle Constitution during the discussion, but please do not remove the "Articles for Deletion" template (the box at the top). Doing so will not end the discussion.

Image Tagging for Image:Levy County Fl Seal.png[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Levy County Fl Seal.png. However, the copyright tag you've used is deprecated or obsolete, and should not be used. This could be because the tag is inaccurate or misleading, or because it does not adequately specify the copyright status of the image. For a list of copyright tags that are in current use, see the "Public domain", "Free license", and "Fair use" sections of Wikipedia:Image copyright tags.

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. For assistance on the image use policy, see Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 01:09, 21 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Unspecified source for Image:GTL Airport.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:GTL Airport.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 19:36, 11 February 2007 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sherool (talk) 19:36, 11 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Miami/John Favalora[edit]

Thanks for your footnoted contributions to John Favalora and an associated church in the area. Is it your turn or mine to revert Dominus+?  :) (I've already done it once today!  :) I've asked for a "third party" intervention 7/13, but nothing yet. He's not quite a vandal but he's getting real close!  :) Student7 19:14, 14 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I filed an appeal for arbitration on:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Requests_for_arbitration#Statement_by_Student7

I failed to state my case clearly therefore it was rejected. We need to take collective action against this guy or he will dominate the miami catholic sites. I thought the articles would speak for themselves but the admin never went there. They always take the easy way out.
I can't refile immediately but you can. Let me know if you do and I will join you in the complaint.Student7 20:10, 17 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
You've done a great job!
I would like to help where needed! If there's anything you want me to do, please tell me! Thanks for all your work. Student7 02:14, 19 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Holy Moley! Have you seen the Miami updates? The real story. No references of course, but there is no doubt! Wow! I was about to put the fact of the edits on the mediation page, but I figured that would just disrupt things. Someone has done a LOT of work! Student7 01:37, 12 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Request for mediation[edit]

A request for mediation has been filed with the Mediation Committee that lists you as a party. The Mediation Committee requires that all parties listed in a mediation must be notified of the mediation. Please review the request at Wikipedia:Requests for mediation/John Favalora, and indicate whether you agree or refuse to mediate. If you are unfamiliar with mediation, please refer to Wikipedia:Mediation. There are only seven days for everyone to agree, so please check as soon as possible.

Request for Mediation[edit]

A Request for Mediation to which you are a party has been accepted. You can find more information on the mediation subpage, Wikipedia:Requests for mediation/John Favalora.

Assistance (RE)[edit]

OK. What should now happen is add the {{subst:uw-unsorn|Article name}} as per instructions here (look for Addition of unsourced material without proper citations), replacing n with the number of the template. Elevate as it goes on (replace n with 2, 3, etc.). After the fourth offense, elevate to a vandalism case by adding {{subst:uw-vand4|Article name}}. After leaving this message, if he does the same thing again, report him to the admins. I'd do it myself, but I haven't the time, as I spend a lot of time fighting vandals.
--FastLizard4 (Talk|Contribs) 03:00, 28 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Oh. I discovered a little tid bit of information you might be interested in. I noticed the mediation, and also noticed that Dominvs has not edited Wikipedia in any way for some time now. His last edit (diff) was to the mediation page. See Special:Contributions/DominvsVobiscvm. Since you are involved in the mediation, and I'm not, I thought you might want to bring this to attention. My opinion is that there is no one to take part in the mediation, either Dominvs has left Wikipedia, is insanely busy, or is on a very long Wiki-break. But, that is, again, my own opinion.

Fair use rationale for Image:Bishop_mccarthy.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Bishop_mccarthy.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. MER-C 12:24, 28 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

archdiocese of miami[edit]

I am seeking your input for new discussion items on the page Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Miami, link here:[[1]] Please come give us your insight! Thanks, NancyHeise 15:45, 18 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Angr, an admin, is seeking suggestions on what to do about Dominvs+ at:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WP:AN/I#What_to_do_about_DominvsVobiscvm.3F

Angr is very familiar with all the arguments from both sides. He blocked Dominvs+ for one day which didn't seem to do any good. Anyway, maybe things can get back to normal once we come up with an idea! Thanks for all your help in the past! The admin's attention ultimately came out of your filing for mediation BTW. Archdiocese of Miami has been unprotected once again[edit]

Dear Aafm, You have contributed valuable information to important sites connected to the Archdiocese of Miami. This site has once again become unprotected and the user, DominvsVobiscvm has been blocked from editing. I just wanted you to know in case you had any more good material you wanted to add to the Archdiocese of Miami site. Sincerely, NancyHeise 23:26, 19 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The blockee is back online but, for the time being at least, has not edited the pages in which we are interested. I think an admin may be watching to see what he does in the short term. In the meantime, Nancy and others have edited a lot of improvements into "Miami."
So we never got arbitrated, to answer your question, but it appears (for now) that we don't need it. What we got was better than arbitration. The admins watched, made up their minds, and acted.
Welcome back! Student7 11:10, 26 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

good example for us to follow[edit]

Hello, Aafm, I joined the Wikipedia project for Catholicism which can be found here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:WikiProject_Catholicism, on that page there are examples of articles that have a good rating. One of the articles is Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Chicago. We can use that as an example to see what kind of info we need to add to the Miami page to make it better. It looks like we need a lot more content especially in the history section. I don't know how to insert pictures but maybe one of the other editors of this page can help with that. I hope you are still interested in helping with the Archdiocese of Miami page, you contributions were valuable. NancyHeise 03:34, 20 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry to keep bothering you but.[edit]

Dear Aafm, I see this is the third time I have left a message on your page. I don't mean to be a pest but you seem to be very knowledgeable about Archdiocese of Miami things and I really would like for you to come and see the page Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Miami. I have nominated it for WP:GAC good article status but would like your opinion and possible edits if you can think of anything else to add here. Thanks!NancyHeise 00:07, 1 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Cantalamessa.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Cantalamessa.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 07:21, 27 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed deletion of Holy Family Catholic Church (Williston, Florida)[edit]

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Holy Family Catholic Church (Williston, Florida), suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process because of the following concern:

non notable church

All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because, even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. AfD nomination of Holy Family Catholic Church (Williston, Florida)[edit]

I have nominated Holy Family Catholic Church (Williston, Florida), an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Holy Family Catholic Church (Williston, Florida). Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time. Image permission problem with Image:Miamiarch.jpg[edit]

Image Copyright problem
Image Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading Image:Miamiarch.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the image (or other media file) agreed to license it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the GFDL or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the image to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the image has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the image's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Images lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Lokal_Profil 20:01, 10 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for uploading File:Ocala airport.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the source and creator of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided source information for them as well.

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Star Trek Simulation Forum requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article or image appears to be a clear copyright infringement. This article or image appears to be a direct copy from http://roleplay.wikia.com/wiki/Star_Trek_Simulation_Forum. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website or image but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. Invitation to an in-person meetup in Mohua / Golden Bay[edit]

Golden Bay Air are holding some seats for us until 21 November

Thinking about your summer break? Think about joining other Wikipedians and Wikimedians in Golden Bay / Mohua! Details are on the meetup page. There's heaps of interesting stuff to work on e.g. the oldest extant waka or New Zealand's oldest ongoing legal case. Or you may spend your time taking photos and then upload them.

Golden Bay is hard to get to and the airline flying into Tākaka uses small planes, so we are holding some seats from and to Wellington and we are offering attendees a $200 travel subsidy to help with costs.

Be in touch with Schwede66 if this event interests you and you'd like to discuss logistics. Schwede66 09:14, 13 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
