- Hi, I got the first message about finding photos. Several photos on Flickr have non-prohibitive copyrights.
- Go to Flickr and in "advanced search" check all 3 boxes under "only search within Creative Commons-licensed content".
- Save the largest sized picture to your computer.
- Go to [1]. (this is the "Flickinfo tool" from this page [2])
- Enter the Flickr URL for the largest-sized photo you just downloaded. This tool will extract the photo's info. Then "open upload form". Under "licensing", select "uploaded to Flickr Creative Commons Attribution 2.0". Then upload.
- Don't forget to copy down the file name.

ATinySliver, my apologies for not going to the Ike Altgens FAC earlier, even though I said that I would go take a look at it, and now it seems like I'm too late. If it's any consolation, I doubt that it would've passed anyway, even with my input. I suggest that you make requests for reviews earlier so that you have plenty of time to address concerns. To make up for dropping the ball, I wouldn't mind doing an informal peer review of the article, and this time I promise to get to it sooner. Did you know Lincoln was smiling after he was shot?
I have posted words from Katherine M. Evans account about Lincoln smiling after he was shot on several articles because I cannot put one on here due to the article being protected. In "We Saw Lincoln Shot" by Tim Good, on page 148, Katherine M. Evans said Lincoln WAS smiling after he was shot; "I looked and saw President Lincoln unconscious, his head dropping on his breast,his eyes closed, but with a smile still on his face". Emma Watson
Hi,
I notice you reverted an edit on Emma's page, and you have previously commented on the British use of the term "semester". Actually, I don't think we British ever use this particular word at all (nor tremester). In the UK, the academic year is divided into three "terms", and if we were to refer to something happening at the end of one we would indeed say "end of term" (without the definite article). The word "semester" is distincly American English and so it isn't really possible to exemplify its usage in British English. This isn't really terribly important, but I guess that since Emma is attending an American institution it is correct to use American terminology. Since that terminology has no active use in British English, I'd say that on this occasion the American approach is the one we should adopt, notwithstanding that the article is written in British English.
I don't think many people care whether the word "the" is included or not and I don't mean to criticize - just to clarify :) TriumFant (talk) 11:09, 3 May 2014 (UTC)

As an American I'm always on the lookout for items that will help me with articles about Brits (a onetime colleague and I wrote most of Karen Dotrice, for example). I've found several articles referring to both "end of term" and "end of semester", so removing "the" seemed correct. I was not aware of the semester/term distinction; thanks for passing it on. bureaucracy and WP
Please don't be deterred by the bureaucracy here. This is after all a very large enterprise, with thousand of people working independently at the same time with almost no formal coordination, almost no supervision, and very little training. to help deal with it, a number of formal conventions have been established. Unfortunately, the sort of people that like to work here are exactly the sort of people who are not very skilled at drawing up formal conventions or procedures, and the net result is a mass of partially contradictory instructions and rules, some important, some not; some enforced, some not. The response to a rule that has proven impractical is usually to add several supplementary rules, rather that to revise the original, and after 11 years, it produces quite a jumble.
Some of us find it fun to manipulate the rules to get a reasonable result. But the true purpose of working here is to build an encyclopedia, and I will normally try to get to a reasonable result as directly as possible. Some people though insist on their interpretation of the rules regardless of the result, and I have also become rather experienced at countering them in their own frame of reference when necessary. As I'm pretty much an inclusionist on most topics, I tend to concentrate at AfD and AfC.
My advice is to concentrate on providing good sourced articles. If you want to learn process, don;t be afraid of making errors. There's no other way to do it, because you need to learn not the letter or the rules, but the way we use the and the accepted boundaries. DGG ( talk ) 17:53, 22 October 2014 (UTC)

The controversy already existed with public and family perception, the wedding announcement and then the reveal of their non-marriage continued the controversy over their entire relationship. In fact, after reverting me (twice) you even edited that wording and didn't see a problem with was was already there. Here is what I'm referring to, Sliver: "The announcement caused controversy when it was revealed that, before becoming romantically involved with Gordon...". The controversy already existed with public and family perception, the wedding announcement and then the reveal of their non-marriage continued the controversy over their entire relationship. I believe that you can use Google Translator, but you chose bad version of translation. Yes, of course "Pan" means "Lord", but not only. It also means "Sir" or "Mister", maybe in USA is other tradition, but in Poland we always say "Panie" (for men) or "Pani" (for women) to strangers.
