Request reason:

We are a small not-for-profit organisation representing the HVAC&R industry in Australia. Similar and affiliated organisations such as ASHRAE and CIBSE have wikipedia pages and we are trying to set up our own in the same vain. Please advise us the best steps to take in order to achieve this. As previously mentioned, our article had been reviewed twice and we were working to address the issues highlighted each time. The previous users that provided revision of our draft did not point out the same issues with username. AIRAH is an organisation with the industry's greater good as its diving force - we are not commercially driven. Any assistance would be appreciated. AIRAH Wiki (talk) 00:05, 22 December 2016 (UTC)

Decline reason:

Firstly, your use of the first person plural indicates that you are not writing as an individual. Accounts should be for individuals only - shared accounts are forbidden. Secondly, the fact you are not for profit organisation counts for nothing - you are still required to comply with our policy on promotion. Thirdly, you should not be trying to set up 'your' page - you have a conflict of interest, so you should not be making article edits to this subject. Thanks for your response. As per your instructions I will need to unblock this account and rename my user name to something generic. Are you able to unblock and change the user name to JamesH1920. Request reason:

I now understand that there were main two issues with this account prior to it being blocked. The former account was deemed as a advertising or promotion tool, which is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia. This was not my intention when it was created, but in hindsight I can see that the username represented the organisation, which is also against policy. I have requested a new user name which will be used by just one person - myself. With the change of username I intend to act as a individual and not on behalf of any organisation. Creation of future pages will be done without conflict of interest. I hope you can see to my username change request and unblock this account. Thanks for your time.
