Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. This is a notice to inform you that a tag has been placed on SATMAP Inc. requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an article with no content whatsoever, or whose contents consist only of external links, a "See also" section, book references, category tags, template tags, interwiki links, images, a rephrasing of the title, a question that should have been asked at the help or reference desks, or an attempt to contact the subject of the article. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. A tag has been placed on SATMAP Inc., requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

Practical matters[edit]

You may ask the deleting admin if they will "userfy" the text that was deleted. If you do this then you must use mature judgement with editing it. In order for this organisation to have an article in main namespace it must pass WP:CORP, which also means it must not have even the scent of advertising about it, and it must be solidly referenced. We require references from significant coverage about the topic of the article, and independent of it, and in WP:RS please. See WP:42.

I suspect part of your coursework is to work within the rules of Wikipedia. What you did was unwise for two reasons:

  1. You took a cavalier decision to migrate a draft that was wholly unready to the main namespace, and did;t have the good sense to remove the WP:AFC banners, thus raising a large red flag to the reviewing community that you had done this
  2. You didn't submit yourself/selves to the review>edit>resubmit process in any meaningful way. Had you done so I suspect you might have had an article ready for acceptance and grading

The Draft: and sandbox areas are there for you to use wisely. I imagine your tutor explained this to you. Wise use is not leaving them too soon. Wikipedia. as you have learned, and as is a presumed part of your course, is a harsh place. You have learned how easy it is to edit. You have also learned that it is not simple. @Timtrent: Thank you for your comments. Our group will be working on how to improve the article as a draft, as we seek further advice from our professor and the administrator on how we can comply with both the course guidelines and the Wikipedia guidelines. I wish you success. Wikipedia is by no means perfect, but we strive for perfection. Fiddle Faddle 06:42, 18 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Please ask your tutor if they are a member of Wikipedia:Education program. If they are not then they, too, have something to learn. Fiddle Faddle 06:46, 18 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
