There were a total of 7 cyclones in the southern hemisphere: Becky in the South Pacific, Indlala and Jaya in the Southwestern Indian Ocean and Odette, George, Jacob and Kara in the Australian region. Indlala killed at least 80 and left over 100,000 homeless; whilst Cyclone George was the worst storm to affect Port Hedland in over 30 years.
Member of the month
Cyclone barnstar
The April member of the month is HurricaneIrene. Irene began contributing to tropical cyclone articles on Wikipedia in August 2005, but ran out of steam and left after barely 2 weeks. However, Irene's influence on the project has been wide-reaching. Her efforts led directly to two articles attaining featured status and her legacy inspired many of our most active editors to write a plethora of good articles on a wide range of storms.
The WikiProject has a narrow scope, so it is not surprising that our articles are not frequently selected for Today's featured article. Most destructive cyclones are likely to be mentioned on the In the news column. We have no real control over that, but we should submit suggestions when appropriate.
However, we can do a more lot more to place our content in the other major section of the main page: The Did you know column. In the past month we created over 30 articles. Of these only 2 were even submitted as suggestions for DYK. We can do much better, please submit DYK entries for new articles when you do the initial assessment.

Sorry for not explaining clearly in the edit summary. The code {{reflist}} is more popularly used (I see it in almost FA articles). Also when the ref list of the article grows longer, the big font size coded by <reference/> will make the article look too long (I assume a lot of information about this cute bear will added hereafter) so I replaced the code. Oh, thanks for letting me know another code. But I'm too lazy to write a long one :). If divide the list into 2 columns, I think {{reflist|2}} is OK. Agent → employee

Thanks for asking about this. It is a common misconception that someone who is a staff (or even contract) employee for CIA is called an "agent". A more narrow definition, but still incorrect, is that an "agent" is a CIA employee who runs undercover operations. In actuality, any staff employee of CIA is known as an "officer", whether it be an intelligence officer, a case officer, a reports officer, etc. An "agent" is someone, a foreign asset, the CIA recruits to obtain its intelligence.[1] Hope this helps. —Gintar77 16:43, 6 April 2007 (UTC)

It may be difficult for me to work on the article this weekend since I will be away visiting family for the holiday. But, I'll see what I can do when I get back. By the way, someone added a sentence to the "torture" manual section saying that captives are made to eat feces and drink urine. Hi Gintar. It seems that you've come back from holiday. So could you please check throughout the article for me? I've merged the trivia section into the remain parts. I still wonder whether my edits are appropriate or not. Also, I couldn't find somewhere that's suitable for adding the information "On January 25, 1993, Mir Amir Kansi murdered 2 people and injured 3 others in their cars in front of CIA headquarters in Langley. Kansi was later captured and was executed by the Commonwealth of Virginia in 2002." Thus I left it out because it's just an exceptional event and seems not to state anything important (or add it to "Criticism for ineffectiveness?). Comment. AW 16:20, 12 April 2007 (UTC)
Actually, I like the way you incorporated the trivia. Good work! Maybe we can add a section about the CIA Memorial Wall. The people killed by Kansi are memorialized there (sources:[2][3]) and that would be a good place to put that information. Additionally, we can probably add info on such notable CIA deaths as Johnny Micheal Spann and William Francis Buckley. Oh, and by the way, the correct spelling of Kansi's name, according to his wiki page, is Mir Aimal Kansi. —Gintar77 23:54, 12 April 2007 (UTC)

Writing a new section is the best way to add that piece appropriately (do you think it's funny someone put the image of CIA memorial wall here, in the section about Indonesia). more...footnotes comes after punctuation not before--you're inconsistent here, your footnotes are better but not perfect--make all the web ones look akin too number 80--fill in whatever template parameters apply, fn 53 is all whacked, you don't link solo years, need fn at end of first para in history, sentence on first Nazi agents is too wordy--in fact you have several very wordy and lengthy sentences, see WP:DATE on how and what dates to link, there is no space btwn a period and a foonote, you don't list the heraldry items in the same order that you discuss them, where is the opening parens here -- "called the strategy of tension).", "as many as tens of thousands"--what number is that--were there really that many Nazi agents?, Guatemala needs a summary of the main article, why does this: "Further information: CIA and the war on terror (This article)" say 'this article'?--makes no sense, article is very long--consider more subarticles. Hi. I'm trying to improve the article as you suggested. However, I still don't understand some points. Can you explain more clearly about the order of heraldry items? And if Guatemala section needs a summary about its main article, so should Iran need, too? If such, the article will become longer. About "Further information: CIA and the war on terror (This article)", I think it originally means more information would be shown in the section "CIA and the war on terror" in the article itself.
