References[edit]

Thanks for adding bits of content to so many chemistry articles! Be careful with adding references, though. A "reference" is a bibliographic citation that has enough detail for someone else to track it down (wikipedia's verifiability policy). This edit is an example of the problem. What is "n-Decane, toxicity"? How does it allow a random reader to figure out where you got this hazard information? DMacks (talk) 20:16, 17 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. In your recent edit to Isotopes of sodium, you added links to an article which did not add content or meaning, or repeated the same link several times throughout the article. Please see Wikipedia's guideline on links to avoid overlinking. Thank you. Complex/Rational 17:58, 16 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Please do not use styles that are nonstandard, unusual, inappropriate or difficult to understand in articles, as you did in Distinctive feature. There is a Manual of Style, and edits should not deliberately go against it without special reason. It seems like you are adding refs just for the sake of doing so. A WP:LEDE just summarizes an article, so it should have few or no refs of its own. DMacks (talk) 16:37, 17 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Warning icon Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to use disruptive, inappropriate or hard-to-read formatting, as you did at Barium, you may be blocked from editing. There is a Wikipedia Manual of Style, and edits should not deliberately go against it without special reason. As mentioned above, unless the material involved is contentious or otherwise needs very strong backing, MOS:LEADCITE dictates that extra citations are generally not required in the lead. Also, be careful about link additions – you linked a disambiguation page (which is not an article) and a Serbian village (which has nothing to do with barium). Your efforts are appreciated, though sometimes they leave the article in a worse state that requires cleanup by other editors. Feel free to let me know if you have any questions. Thanks, Complex/Rational 20:43, 25 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

stop Please stop your disrupted edits, which I and other editors have reverted. For example this addition of a non-reference and this addition of unhelpful wikilinks. Mike Turnbull (talk) 16:46, 24 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

December 2022[edit]

stop. Please continue to discuss your proposed edits on my Talk Page. The current version of trifluoroacetyl chloride has a citation error, for example, although the information and citation you are trying to add may indeed be constructive. Slow down and you should be able to get things right. Mike Turnbull (talk) 22:36, 2 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Why are you welcoming blocked editors? Please stop.-- Ponyobons mots 23:19, 2 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
