Well the fact is that most of us do, indeed, speak Russian because it was imposed on us, by the Russian Empire and the Soviet Union. We don't speak Belarusian because we don't know our own language, as most schools are in Russian.

Everything is about politics when we edit articles about countries, their currencies, their laws, their people, etc.
