February 2023[edit]

Information icon Hello, I'm Andrevan. I noticed that you made a comment that didn't seem very civil, so it may have been removed. Wikipedia is built on collaboration, so it's one of our core principles to interact with one another in a polite and respectful manner. If you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Andre🚐 17:17, 2 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop attacking other editors, as you did on Talk:Presidency of Joe Biden. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing. Comment on content, not on other contributors or people. Andre🚐 22:49, 2 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Just go away. I tire of you and your ilk. Stop your bullying and lawyering behavior to browbeat others. If you don’t like what I said then do BETTER act like a true editor interested in building an encyclopedia instead of pushing propaganda. If the comment didn’t hit so close to home you wouldn’t be so upset that you feel compelled to come to the talk page here to threaten me. Do what you want, take it to ANI. I honestly don’t know if some of you folks aren’t being paid given the amount of time you spend policing pages and trying to tamp down any challenge to your viewpoints. I get you don’t like it but you have control over being open to other viewpoints and less sensitive about being challenged when you show your biases clearly. 108.46.171.68 (talk) 00:35, 3 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Don’t come here threatening me and trying to game the system because you are overly sensitive to the same kind of treatment you have displayed to a litany of other IP editors. You obviously have a problem and are determined to harass me for not immediately rolling over to you. Take your bullying elsewhere. Your statements on the talk page in question in regard to Newsweek and other sources were incorrect. I’m asking you once more to GO AWAY, you are instigating the issue by repeatedly threatening me and you have been here long enough to be fully aware of what you are doing. If you want to take the case to ANI you are welcome to do so. 108.46.171.68 (talk) 03:17, 3 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Introduction to contentious topics[edit]

You have recently been editing post-1992 politics of the United States and closely related people which has been designated a contentious topic. This standard message is designed as an introduction to contentious topics and does not imply that there are any issues with your editing.

A special set of rules applies to certain topic areas, which are referred to as contentious topics. These are specially-designated topics that tend to attract more persistent disruptive editing than the rest of the project and have been designated as contentious topics by the Arbitration Committee. When editing a contentious topic, Wikipedia’s norms and policies are more strictly enforced and Wikipedia administrators have special powers in order to reduce disruption to the project.

Within contentious topics, editors should edit carefully and constructively, refrain from disrupting the encyclopedia, and:

adhere to the purposes of Wikipedia;
comply with all applicable policies and guidelines;
follow editorial and behavioural best practice;
comply with any page restrictions in force within the area of conflict; and
refrain from gaming the system.

Editors are advised to err on the side of caution if unsure whether making a particular edit is consistent with these expectations. If you have any questions about contentious topics procedures you may ask them at the arbitration clerks' noticeboard or you may learn more about this contentious topic here. You may also choose to note which contentious topics you know about by using the {{Ctopics/aware}} template.

You have been blocked temporarily from editing for persistent personal attacks on other editors. Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make useful contributions.
If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please read the guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text below the block notice on your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.  JBW (talk) 13:30, 4 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Knock yourselves out, nothing I’ve done would even begin to warrant a block but I get that we have the same lawyering going on by a group of editors who continue to tamp down pages on politics with their own biases. That they do it is not even a secret but it is to the detriment of the project and is something that has been commented on by one of Wikipedia’s own developers. You folks would have been right at home in Goebbel’s Germany, the Soviet Union or today’s China. Nothing you’re doing here does anything other than prove the point and it’s just sad to see people like the editor in question who apparently doesn’t have so much of a life that he needs to bully others in total disregard of some of Wikipedia’s stated parameters ie Wikipedia:Please do not bite the newcomers certainly you are welcome to make the ban even longer and free up my time even more than wasting it on this joke of a site.108.46.171.68 (talk) 23:38, 4 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I warned you several times to stop with the personal attacks, yet you continue. Anything that compares editors to Nazis or Soviet Communists or alleges bias without evidence or accuses of bullying without evidence, these are all personal attacks. Comment on the content and the issues in articles, and stop making statements about editors' politics or lives or lack thereof. It's not bullying but in fact warning you in accordance with Wikipedia policy. Keep it up and your block will be lengthened or made indefinite. If you'd rather not waste time on this site, simply do us all a favor and stop leaving more comments that include personal attacks. Good luck with going through the rest of your life making pompous derogatory remarks to anyone you think is wrong about anything. However, as far as Wikipedia is concerned, enough is enough, so I've increased the block length, and removed your ability to edit this page during the block. (Oh, and by the way, I think you mean cliquish.) JBW (talk) 19:42, 7 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I wanted to thank you for freeing up time that would be otherwise wasted here on your little club. The irony of an Administrator who locks out an account for ‘personal attacks’ posting the comment, “Good luck with going through the rest of your life making pompous derogatory remarks to anyone you think is wrong about anything.” not aware the statement they’re making is in fact a personal attack just underscores how some people need to get out more. In each instance people here were so wildly threatened by words calling them out for their behavior, they ran to other club members for backup. As I stated if anything had been truly worthy of taking issue with you were well within your rights to take it to ANI but you folks never did that did you? Likely because doing so and showing your reaction would have underscored just how abusive your behavior is. Never mind people posting ‘barnstars’ to endorse said behavior. Look, you guys can do whatever you want. Just don’t kid yourselves by pretending your here to build an encyclopedia because it’s clear you’re not. The great thing though is that karma has a way of working things out in this world especially when it comes to pompous bureaucrats who are afraid of other voices. Feel free to delete this too in the way you did all the other comments that you were so entirely threatened by and do so carrying on the great tradition of despots the world over. I’m out. 108.46.171.68 (talk) 22:44, 11 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
