No fun[edit]

Man, you're no fun. Thanks for finking on me. You take this far too seriously to be a fan of Uncyclopedia. Have a nice day. Morton devonshire 05:46, 3 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Discuss[edit]

Let's do it here [1] if you are up for it. After reading your user page, I think you will find it fun. Thanks for your time. I do appreciate it. AquaticTheory 05:05, 20 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Edit Summaries[edit]

Comment Hi 02barryc, regarding your edit's to certain articles ( Wikipedia:Mediation_cabal, and alot of other edits ) I noticed you provided no, a very brief or a confusing edit summary. Although edit summaries are not compulsary (nothing is here really!) it's still good practice to make sure your edits are well commented. FOr example it means other editors can keep track of any changes made to a page. It might be a good idea to change your preferences so that you are prompted every time you try to submit a change without an edit summary. MedCab[edit]

Hi Barry. I got your note, but you don't seem to have e-mail activated. Not sure what to do next ... ???? Sandy 21:10, 24 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks, Sandy 22:06, 24 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Dance capitalization[edit]

I noticed that you listed yourself as a linguist and also as a member of MEDCAB. There is currently a dispute at the Lindy Hop article the Dance WikiProject about the capitalization of dances that could use the expertise of a linguist. If you think you might be able to help, we would certainly appreciate your comments. Thanks! --Cswrye 04:56, 25 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia Research Survey Request[edit]

Hello, I am a member of a research group at Palo Alto Research Center (formerly known as Xerox PARC) studying how conflicts occur and resolve on Wikipedia. Due to your experience in conflict resolution on Wikipedia (e.g., as a member of the Mediation Cabal) we’re extremely interested in your insights on this topic. We have a survey at http://www.surveymonkey.com/s.asp?u=400792384029 which we are inviting a few selected Wikipedians to participate in, and we would be extremely appreciative if you would take the time to complete it. As a token of our gratitude, we would like to present you with a PARC research star upon completion. Thank you for your time.

Transylvania Cabal case[edit]

Hi! Unfortunately, with the heat wave, my net access has been sporadic. That coupled with real life concerns, would mean i wouldnt be able to devote as much time as would be proper to the case. TruthCrusader 09:14, 27 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. I am quite surprised at your message. You'll notice that::
  • I was the only one providing sources.
  • Criztu had changed the original text, not I his - so I cannot see how my edits would be controversial over his.
  • Most of the debate is not about facts, not even about their interpretation, but about their inclusion in the header (i.e.: relevancy, not symbolism). Dahn 15:34, 27 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry. The thing which intrigued me most was the fact that you did not send the same message to Criztu - especially given that Criztu was the one (the only one) contesting the general aspect of the page. You were telling me these as if I were the un-orthodox one, and I was quite upset at first. I will need your approval on removing the tag from the top of the page: Criztu is in clear minority and uses the tag to induce an unrealistic image of a quite reasonable text (without bothering to contribute any further to his own initiative for mediation). Let the mediation go on, if Criztu's POV must be flattered in this way, but let us agree that the tag is outrageously misapplied until at leat some accustions are made to the point (and not to how the header fails to promote Transylvania's image as Romanian). Dahn 00:44, 28 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Ok, thanks. Dahn 02:18, 28 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,

Wikipedia does not allow corporate spam accounts. This is an absolute (if any Wikipedia policy is). The policy has been reinforced by the words of Wikimedia Foundation attorney Brad Patrick (as posted here) and no corporate spam will be tolerated on Wikipedia. If the user in question has further issues, he is encouraged to contact the Wikimedia Foundation office (their website is at http://wikimediafoundation.org/). World's Smallest Political Quiz userbox[edit]

You may be interested in User:Audacity/Userboxes/WSPQ, which is a replacement for the old Political Chart userbox. The new userbox takes the two variables (economic and personal freedom), calculates which political alignment they place you into (Statist, Libertarian, Liberal, Centrist, or Conservative), and links your userpage to the appropriate category.

Please reply to User talk:Audacity, as I will not be watching your talk page. Λυδαcιτγ 07:35, 27 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Userpage[edit]

Hi Barryc: just a design tip: for your userpage, if you add valign=top to the cell attributes, then the page content won't jump so far down the page when you expand the userbox navbox. —Mets501 (talk) 15:17, 31 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. A user category that you are in has been proposed for deletion at Wikipedia:User categories for discussion. You are welcome to comment. Cheers! bd2412 T 02:01, 21 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
