Welcome to My Talk Page: User:Ameen Akbar

Welcome[edit]

Hi, امین اکبر, and welcome to Wikipedia! I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

Please remember to sign your messages on talk pages by typing four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question on this page and then place {{help me}} before the question.

However, there is a small issue with your username. As it is in a non-Latin alphabet script it may not display correctly for many other users. Although usernames like yours are not prohibited, Wikipedia's signature guideline and username policy encourage you, as a courtesy to other users, to alter your signature so that it also includes a translation of your username using Latin characters, so others can see it correctly. For the how-to of tailoring your username, please see WP:CUSTOMSIG.

Thanks, and feel free to message me about anything.

Ways to improve Nawab Muzaffar Khan[edit]

Hi, I'm ColonelHenry. امین اکبر, thanks for creating Nawab Muzaffar Khan!

I've just tagged the page, using our page curation tools, as having some issues to fix. It's usually unacceptable to cut and paste machine translations of an article or material from a source.

The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, you can leave a comment on my talk page. Or, for more editing help, talk to the volunteers at the Teahouse. ColonelHenry (talk) 03:13, 5 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion nomination of Index of Curaçao-related articles[edit]

Hello امین اکبر,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Index of Curaçao-related articles for deletion, because it seems to be inappropriate for a variety of reasons.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Mannjani (talk) 13:57, 7 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

  • I have created this page Index of Curaçao-related articles to complete the list at this page Lists of country-related topics. If any reason apply to delete this page, that reason should also apply all pages on the said list. I request to remove the speedy deletion tag. In future any one can put matter in this articles. If you delete this page, the said list will remain uncomplete. Ameen Akbar (talk) 15:50, 7 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Ameen Akbar you have asked me to write on عبد الخالق (کھلاڑی) so i am free to write but the problem is i tried to change font style but it could not. i wanted to change in nastiliq font style, is it possible?--Muntazir764 (talk) 03:18, 6 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Index of Bosnia and Herzegovina-related articles[edit]

The situation is not uniform; I've clicked on a random entry on that list and found that it redirected me to an outline article; so in this case you could possibly redirect that term to Outline of Bosnia and Herzegovina instead. That might actually be helpful to readers, unlike an empty list article. --Joy [shallot] (talk) 18:24, 11 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Disambiguation link notification for April 8[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Mueller Industries, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Racine (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Speedy deletion nomination of Rashid Rehman[edit]

Hello امین اکبر,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Rashid Rehman for deletion, because the article doesn't clearly say why the subject is important enough to be included in an encyclopedia.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Prof. Mc (talk) 16:48, 9 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Pakistan railways[edit]

Hi do you think you can actually say what town/province they're in?♦ Dr. Blofeld 17:45, 3 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

  • Yes sir, I know the locations. After completion of all pages i will add necessary information. Please see changes in the page Kharian railway station, you have recently patrolled.Ameen Akbar (talk) 18:19, 3 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Frankly speaking, 1181 articles of railway stations in Pakistan is completely unjustified. There just cannot be added any information in 90% of these pages. For example, Lahore Railway Station, yes you can write an article on it. But "Bagatora Railway Station". Really? Can anyone write an article on it? I dont think so. My advise is to delete all the pages of minor/unheard of railway stations and instead make an article named list of Railway stations of Pakistan or something and mention them in that.Sohebbasharat (talk) 21:46, 21 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

  • Dear Sohebbasharat, I need some time to complete information in all stations in list. I have complete book (manual) published by Pakistan Railways, which contain their location, railway lines, sections and so on. So please wait. Ameen Akbar (talk) 06:06, 16 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Apply for Autopatrolled Rights?[edit]

Hello امین اکبر,

You have recently created a lot of short articles about various railways in Pakistan which all seem to be useful articles for Wikipedia. You might want to consider applying for Autopatrolled Rights to help speed up the reviewing process for new page patrollers. Thanks! Winner 42 Talk to me! 14:30, 4 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Autopatrolled[edit]

Hello, this is just to let you know that I have granted you the "autopatrolled" permission. This won't affect your editing, it just automatically marks any page you create as patrolled, benefiting new page patrollers. Please remember:

  • This permission does not give you any special status or authority
  • Submission of inappropriate material may lead to its removal
  • You may wish to display the {{Autopatrolled}} top icon and/or the {{User wikipedia/autopatrolled}} userbox on your user page
  • If, for any reason, you decide you do not want the permission, let me know and I can remove it
If you have any questions about the permission, don't hesitate to ask. Otherwise, happy editing! HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 14:46, 4 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Banks[edit]

You seem to be creating articles for every bank which is part of a banking database; please note that Wikipedia is not a business directory and that all article subjects must meet notability guidelines, or more specifically in this case business notability guidelines. The mere existence of a bank or business is normally not enough to merit a page here. Can you indicate what is notable about these banks for which you are creating articles? 331dot (talk) 15:54, 4 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Dhul Qarnayn[edit]

Hello Ameen. On the "other candidates" for Dhul-Qarnayn, I deleted the references to Darius the Great and Solomon. Darius had no sources to support it, and I think it needs one - I've seen Cyrus mentioned in books, but never Darius.

For Solomon, I haven't personally seen him mentioned in any books either. However, there are sources in our article - it says that Muhammad Akbar advanced this. My first problem is that I can't see that he's an important thinker - he has a Wikipedia article, but it says he has not so much formal education, and he seems to have had no academic position (a university post or so on). So how do I know he's not just a man who wrote a book? Is he important? It doesn't look as if he is, from what I can see. I'm sorry for that, because I think you respect him so much (and he died too young), but it's the way I see it. Can you find the idea that Solomon was Dhul-Qarnayn somewhere else? (I must say I don't see how he could be - Dhul Qarnayn travelled far, but I don't think Solomon did).

Well, I've put it back, because it's interesting and does no harm, but if anyone ever wants to argue about this with you I think it would be difficult.

Thank you for being so polite :) PiCo (talk) 09:03, 16 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Dear Amin: That edit wasn't by me, it was by user DiscoSpinster. I'll try to re-write it for you in a way that might be ok, but I can't guarantee. PiCo (talk) 08:22, 22 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Autopatrolled removed[edit]

Hello. I'm sorry to inform you, but I have removed your autopatrolled flag, because you have created large number of articles that have already been deleted or are heading for deletion. It's important that editors with autopatrolled status understand all the relevant guidelines and do not create problematic content. The removal will have no effect on your editing, but the project will benefit when your articles go through the usual new page patrolling process. Thanks. Widr (talk) 17:15, 6 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Agha Nasir requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be a clear copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from http://urduwire.com/people/Agha-Nasir_574.aspx. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website or image but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. — Diannaa (talk) 02:56, 19 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello, I'm Zackmann08. Thank you for your recent contributions to UrduPoint. I noticed that when you added the image to the infobox, you added it as a thumbnail. In the future, please do not use thumbnails when adding images to an infobox (see WP:INFOBOXIMAGE). What does this mean? Well in the infobox, when you specify the image you wish to use, instead of doing it like this:

|image=[[File:SomeImage.jpg|thumb|Some image caption]]

Instead just supply the name of the image. So in this case you can simply do:

|image=SomeImage.jpg.

There will then be a separate parameter for the image caption such as |caption=Some image caption. Please note that this is a generic form message I am leaving on your page because you recently added a thumbnail to an infobox. The specific parameters for the image and caption may be different for the infobox you are using! Please consult the Template page for the infobox being used to see better documentation. Thanks! Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. This is a notice to inform you that a tag has been placed on Sairandhri (1920 Hindi film) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an article with no content whatsoever, or whose contents consist only of external links, a "See also" section, book references, category tags, template tags, interwiki links, images, a rephrasing of the title, a question that should have been asked at the help or reference desks, or an attempt to contact the subject of the article. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. A tag has been placed on Shakuntala (1920 film) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0251393/. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

Request reason:

Dear Admins. I have been working here since April 2013. I have made more than 4000 edits. I have created hundreds of pages but this copyright issue occure first time. I have always tried to write text in my own words, But in last page Tomb of Tahir Khan Nahar I have created I did not edit some lines, However, I have instered url as reference. I will take care in future, Unblock my account so I can continue working on Wikipedia. Ameen Akbar (talk) 19:18, 7 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Accept reason:

Per discussion below. Moneytrees🏝️(Talk) 15:30, 9 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

"...I have instered url as reference" to be clear, even if you cite the source you're copying from it's still a copyright violation. Moneytrees🏝️(Talk) 19:26, 7 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Moneytrees🏝️ I will strictly take care about copyright in futre. Please unblock. Ameen Akbar (talk) 19:36, 7 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
To be clear, could you explain to me how will you change your editing going forward? Moneytrees🏝️(Talk) 19:48, 7 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Moneytrees🏝️ I have rewrited text in hundreds of pages I have created. This block is enough for me to take care in furture. I will rewrite all text completly. If you guide me about wikipedia tools to check copyright violations, I will myself check my text while creating pages in furture. Ameen Akbar (talk) 19:56, 7 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I have found Copyright Violation Detector in WP resources. I will check my work with this tool. Ameen Akbar (talk) 20:15, 7 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
If I understand you correctly, you are planning on pasting content in from your sources and then using a tool to compare your rewrites of that text to the source. While checking your work for copyright violations is good, that's still a copyright violation. It's better to carefully read your source and summarize what the source is saying, not directly copying or paraphrasing it. Moneytrees🏝️(Talk) 22:10, 7 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

OK I will carefully read my source and summarize what the source is saying in my own words. Now will you please Unblock? Ameen Akbar (talk) 22:54, 7 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

While I would like to unblock you, but I need to be absolutely sure you understand what you did wrong and that you will not violate copyright in the future. Your responses are saying the right thing, but I'm not sure if they completely demonstrate and understanding of what you did wrong. One good way of doing this is showing what your writing would look like with your new understanding of copyright. You can still edit userspace, so you could do something like create a rewrite at User:امین اکبر/Rewrite. You could create a rewrite of Yadgar Club there- if that rewrite is copyright issue free, it would go far in getting you unblocked. Moneytrees🏝️(Talk) 03:06, 8 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Moneytrees🏝️, OK, Done. Hope now you will satisfy. Ameen Akbar (talk) 12:44, 8 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I copyedited it a bit, otherwise it looks fine from a copyright perspective. I am ready to unblock you, although I advise you to be careful in the future- coming back from second blocks for copyright violations is a lot harder. Do you understand this? Moneytrees🏝️(Talk) 00:07, 9 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Yes I understand. I will take extra care in future Ameen Akbar (talk) 11:26, 9 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Copyright[edit]

  • Copyright Violation Detector. This runs an internet scan of article content, excluding known Wikipedia mirrors. It will scan older versions of articles, if you input the permanent url instead of the article name. This may help locate sources, but does not search googlebooks and is particularly likely to miss close paraphrasing issues. However, it can be a very good resource for detecting sources copied.
  • Duplication Detector. This runs a comparison between an article and a specific other document, including pdfs and documents you upload, ranking duplications in text according to amount matched. It may not detect close parpahrasing. It is customizable in a number of ways, including permitting the exclusion of quotations and numbers and specifying the number of words to look for. Its output can be linked through the template {{dupdet|article|url}}
  • Wikiblame. Accessible under the "history" tab of every page on Wikipedia as "Revision history search", this tool can be useful in determining when a run of text first entered an article, thereby helping to determine if text evolved naturally or came in at one chunk. It is also useful in identifying the problematic contributor if copyright issues are confirmed.
  • Contribution Surveyor. This tool is used for WP:CCI. It lists all the articles to which a contributor has contributed, with diffs, clustered and ranked by contributions that are most likely to be copyright violations. Options allow eliminating "reversions" and "minor edits" and specifying date ranges for output (after the scan). The output size can also be modified by number of reports per page. This may be helpful in determining if a CCI is needed.

Punjab constituencies inconsistencies[edit]

Hi Ameen, has the numbering of the constituencies changed lately? e.g. You've created Constituency PP-271 (Muzaffargarh-IV), while according to Template:Constituencies of Punjab Assembly, PP-271 seems to be Bahawalpur-V, whereas Muzaffargarh-IV seems to be PP-254. -MPGuy2824 (talk) 01:37, 26 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Dear MPGuy2824 let me clear. According to ECP website

According to the Delimitation of Constituencies Act, 1974, the constituencies for elections to the National and Provincial Assemblies are to be delimited after every census.

So, Constituency PP-271 (Bahawalpur-V) and Constituency PP-254 (Muzaffargarh-IV) were created according to 1998 Census of Pakistan, so 2008 Pakistani general election and 2013 Pakistani general election were held for same Constituency. Election Commission of Pakistan delimit old and create new Constituency according 2017 Census of Pakistan. So Constituency PP-271 (Bahawalpur-V) for general election 2008 and 2013 while Constituency PP-271 (Muzaffargarh-IV) was for general election 2018. I also feel there are so many inconsistencies in constituencies pages, that may mislead users. I am working on this. After covering constituencies of Muzaffargarh, I will try to arrang all constituencies of country and provinces according to census or elections.I will also try to arrange Template:Constituencies of Punjab Assembly accordingly. Ameen Akbar (talk) 10:44, 26 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Suggestion: rename all the constituencies (a few at a time) by removing the "Constituency PP-XYZ" part. Leave only the name of the constituency. Maybe that would solve a few inconsistencies. -MPGuy2824 (talk) 10:47, 26 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
MPGuy2824 your suggestion is really good, rename Constituency PP Muzaffargarh-IV to Constituency PP Muzaffargarh-IV may solve many inconsistencies. But we are using Constituency name as per ECP.Ameen Akbar (talk) 11:42, 26 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
You could think of the constituency number as just an arbitrary numbering and the name (Muzaffargarh-IV, in this instance) as the more important part. The ECP seems to be doing the numbering arbitrarily every time anyway. -MPGuy2824 (talk) 11:54, 26 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I will think more about this and your suggestive way as well. I think these inconsistencies must be fix now, or this issue will become even worse.Ameen Akbar (talk) 12:40, 26 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
