Biographical categories[edit]

Hello Чтогдекогдазнающий, thank you for your efforts to improve the categorisation of biographical articles. However, please do not add categories without a reliable published source (either already in the article or additionally provided). Your edits to several Herschel biographies seem to have introduced an incorrect category, according to the book "The Quiet Revolution of Caroline Herschel: The Lost Heroine of Astronomy" by Emily Winterburn (chapter 8) later Herschel generations were practising Protestants. Also, please do not add categories, when the article is already in a more specific subcategory (to give a quick example: an article categorized in "Jewish American scientist" is usually not added again to "Jewish scientist" or "American scientist" (as the former categorization already includes the latter 2).

I hope these tips are helpful, but please feel free to ask if you have any further question - I'd be glad to help. WP:Teahouse is also a good forum, if you ever need any Wikipedia-related help and advice. Best regards. GermanJoe (talk) 14:38, 4 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

January 2019[edit]

Information icon Before adding a category to an article, as you did to Christina Hoff Sommers, please make sure that the subject of the article really belongs in the category that you specified according to Wikipedia's categorization guidelines. Categories must also be supported by the article's verifiable content. Categories may be removed if they are deemed incorrect for the subject matter. Thank you. Please stop your bad and disruptive categorizations, many of which violate WP:BLPCAT (religious categories on living people must be supported by attestations of faith by the subject) or are completely off-topic (hint: historians, philosophers, and literary scholars are not scientists). If you continue to make these rapid-fire bad edits you are likely to be blocked. —David Eppstein (talk) 18:55, 4 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

Thank you for your cooperation. I want to note that for many years I have been dealing with the topic "the role of Jews in world civilization". Еo judge the Jewry of people originating from the former Russian Empire, I can quite competently. Regards Чтогдекогдазнающий (talk) 19:36, 4 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

I am declining your unblock request because it does not address the reason for your block, or because it is inadequate for other reasons. To be unblocked, you must convince the reviewing administrator(s) that

  • the block is not necessary to prevent damage or disruption to Wikipedia, or
  • the block is no longer necessary because you
    1. understand what you have been blocked for,
    2. will not continue to cause damage or disruption, and
    3. will make useful contributions instead.

Please read the guide to appealing blocks for more information. Yamla (talk) 19:44, 4 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

  • "Еo judge the Jewry of people originating from the former Russian Empire, I can quite competently." -- eh, what? I don't know what you are trying to say, but it sure sounds antisemitic. Drmies (talk) 19:38, 4 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Also sounds like possibly original research, which is prohibited under WP:NOR. --Yamla (talk) 19:44, 4 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Чтогдекогдазнающий. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "Агол".

In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been nominated for deletion. If you plan on working on it further, or editing it to address the issues raised if it was declined, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}}, {{db-draft}}, or {{db-g13}} code.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by following the instructions at this link. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.

Thank you for your submission to Wikipedia! CASSIOPEIA(talk) 04:47, 21 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
