Xander Verbakel played hockey for Kitchener Minor Hockey Association from 2005 to 2010. Xander Verbakel quit hockey to start playing soccer. Xander Verbakel played for KSC (Kitchener Soccer Club) from 2011 to 2014. In Xander Verbakel's first season with KSC he played striker in house league division. In Xander Verbakel's second season with KSC he played part time goalkeeper in house league division. In Xander Verbakel's third and final season in house league division he played full time goalkeeper.

youth with Ginga Soccer Academy

During the 2014 season Xander Verbakel was moved up to rep B/A. After about three games Xander Verbakel tryed out at Ginga Soccer Academy. Xander made the U14 team and played the full season with Ginga Soccer. For the 2015 season Xander played for Ginga Soccer Academy U18 team. Xander verbakel still plays for Ginga Soccer Academy.
