User:Wikig39

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Background[edit]

I've been a "WikiGnome[1]" since roughly 2005. I chose "wikig-" as part of my username to reflect the definition of my role on Wikipedia; the "-39" is a reference to my favourite hockey player's jersey number when I first signed up, Christobal Huet of the Montreal Canadiens (at the time), now with the Washington Capitals, although an unrestricted free agent as of 1 July 2008. I may have to change it to #31, for Carey Price.

I have a Bachelor of Arts, Class of 1998, with majors in English and French, and a Bachelor of Education, Class of 2000.

I spent four years in a teaching capacity, at numerous grade levels and subject matters, too many to list...you could say I was something of a nomad during that period.

Presently, I work for Veterans Affairs Canada (VAC).

Interests[edit]

I have interests in many areas. Per above, I am a huge Habs fan, so Habs lore is part of my game. I am also heavily involved in the Military History of Canada, and not just because of my work with VAC. Hence, you will often see my username on pages related to Canada's military history. I am also involved in community theater projects and charitable works.

Disclaimer[edit]

Okay, the title is a bit of a joke...I just want other users to know, if I make a change or addition or modification to a page you have worked on, it is not meant as a reflection of your work. It is only for the "betterment" of Wikipedia as a whole. ANYTIME you have a problem with anything I have done, PLEASE let me know. We are all human, and when you find something I have done wrong, I appreciate knowing.

You will also "find" me on Wikipédia, for our French friends, under the same user name. Currently, I am working on biographies of Canada's Victoria Cross recipients, in Canada's both official languages, so don't be surprised if you see my tag all over the place.

Cheers to all!!
