Hey Tails Wx. I'm creating this sort of checklist for the 1945 tornado articles. After that break from the 1946 mess, I'm going to start the overhaul process for 1945 tornadoes. Since the articles are split between four locations (Halls4521, Tails Wx, Elijahandskip, and mainspace), having this checklist will be beneficial, I think. January

I checked a bunch of sources for any tornadoes during January 1945 in the US and came up empty handed. I feel super safe to confirm and go with no tornadoes documented at all during the month. WeatherWriter (talk) 21:54, 26 June 2023 (UTC)

February

Update: Grazulis is done for February 1945 and USWB info seems to be done. I marked the step as halfdone. Some other source should probably be located since there was a death on February 22 in Georgia. Besides locating a newspaper article or something, February should be done. March

Outbreak or Outbreak Sequence article? March 27 through April 1 is a big tornadic time period at least in Grazulis book. I’m thinking to hold off for now on an article since it is a whole lot of F2 spam and only 1 killer the entire time. If USWB adds more tornadoes than what Grazulis has, we might want to discuss if we want an article or not. WeatherWriter (talk) 00:27, 27 June 2023 (UTC)

Should we give March 14–16 an outbreak article? Between the three days, there is at least 10 tornadoes including 8 significant and 2 killers. I’m not sure if USWB will have any extra ones not rated by Grazulis, but I wanted to run it by y’all since it would be at least 10 tornadoes in the article. 2 F3s and 6 F2s for the significant tornadoes. I’m pinging Tails Wx, ChessEric, and ChrisWx since y’all were interested in the overhaul. Ten tornadoes seems to be maybe enough for an article, but with mostly F2 spam, I’m a little hesitant, hence why I’m wanting some thoughts about it. WeatherWriter (talk) 02:14, 28 June 2023 (UTC)

I don't think March 14–16 needs an article. Although that seems like a pretty big outbreak, I don't think it needs an article because it doesn't have as many notable tornadoes that the other two outbreak pages do, and not really any tornadoes which make the outbreak notable enough for a unique page. If the tornadoes do seem notable in their impacts, then the article may be created, but going off of the info you're providing, it doesn't seem like it needs an article. Yeah, that is sort of my thought process as well. A skim of Grazulis didn’t show anything too notable or significant. I’m thinking to not do an outbreak articles unless a February 12 situation is found where USWB did some mega case study. WeatherWriter (talk) 03:11, 28 June 2023 (UTC)

@ChessEric: March 14–16 had 6 F2s and 2 F3s. March 27–April 1 had 8 F2s and 2 F3s. But on second look, no outbreak sequence will be needed. 6 of those F2s are really stubby summaries from Grazulis. Now with that said, I just saw USWB did some wack stuff for March 16th. It looks like Grazulis named 2 smaller F2s in Iowa on the 16th, with 2 sentences for each F2. USWB on the other hand wrote a stupidly long paragraph in the Monthly Weather Review for March, which named a 1 mile wide, 50 mile long tornado through in Iowa (2 of the 3 communities struck by this long-track tornado mentioned by Grazulis for those F2s). So, it looks like March 16 has a long USWB case study. Since Grazulis details are small for those Iowa tornadoes though, it can probably be a slightly larger summary box for those tornadoes. An article still shouldn’t be needed. We can keep note of this 3 day event though in case byte size becomes a problem. WeatherWriter (talk) 19:43, 28 June 2023 (UTC)

Yeah, I’d go with just a section for March 14–16, I don’t think it needs an article per ChrisWx. Maybe an Outbreak Sequence article can be created for March 27 through April 1, but depends on the damages and the amount of tornadoes, and the fatality/injury total as well. Yeah. Most of the outbreaks that Grazulis puts out have tons of F2 tornadoes since tornadoes he only puts F2+ tornadoes into his books. A section is fine.ChessEric 00:58, 29 June 2023 (UTC)
