Karl Boromäus Frank, also known as Karl B. Frank or Karl Frank, pseudonyms Paul Hagen, Wilhelm Müller, Willi Müller, Josef, Maria, and L. A. Gruber (born May 31, 1893 in Vienna, Austria; died May 21, 1969 in New Milford, Connecticut), was an Austrian-German-American journalist, Marxist political militant, and psychoanalyst. His earliest political affiliations were the Austrian Communist Party and the German Communist Party. Later he joined the Leninist Organization (subsequently known as the New Beginning Group) and the German Social Democratic Party. While in American exile, he published two books (Will Germany Crack? in 1942 and Germany after Hitler in 1944) and played an important role in the founding of both the Emergency Rescue Committee and the Council for a Democratic Germany.
