Motorola PowerStack - was an early PowerPC workstation, produces since 1994[1] and was discontinued circa 1999.
Overview[edit]
This line has a internal PReP subarchitecture[2]; this archicecturre commonly was be used in a IBM RS/6000 workstations.
History[edit]
The PowerStack was one of the Motorola Computer Group's entries into the personal computer (PC) market around the time the Microsoft Windows/Intel x86 juggernaut was stumbling with their mass market Windows 3.11 replacement.[3]

Also known as PowerStack Series E;[4] This is a PowerPC-based development system, runs a 66Mhz PPC chip. For the OS it runs AIX, same os that developed for IBM RS/6000. This system also can run the PPC version of Windows NT, remarkably enough.[5] It's a compact, modular, efficient platform featuring IBM/Motorola's PowerPC CPUs as well as best-in-class contemporary interfaces like PCI and SCSI. A compute element could be stacked with other modular I/O and storage cases to expand its capabilities without having to rehome the computer in a larger chassis.[3][6][7]
- CPU: 133MHz or 166MHz[6] PowerPC 604 [8]

- Storage: 1GB SCSI-2 hard drive, 4X CD-ROM [8]
