Abdul Hamid Siddique[edit]
Abdul Hameed Siddique (Urdu: عبد الحميد صدّيقي; 21 May 1923,Gujranwala Punjab ,Pakistan – 18 April 1978) was a Pakistani Sunni Islamic scholar and writer who translated Sahih Muslim into english written by Imam Muslim (Muslim ibn al-Hajjaj). This translation is a part of the USC-MSA Compendium of Muslim Texts. The work of Abdul Hameed Siddiqui is in multiple languages and categories enlightening different aspects of Islam and its teachings.
Life of Abdul Hameed Siddiqui[edit]
Abdul Hameed Siddiqui was born on 21 May, 1923 in Gujranwala which is a small city in the northwest of Lahore. He was an English teacher in Govt Islamic high school Gujranwala before completing his Masters Degree from University of Punjab Lahore but later on he taught in gujranwala and Lahore as a professor of economics. Siddique served in Islamia College Lahore as a Professor of Economics. In contrast to his life as a professors he was closely associated with islamic and literature. He was the associate editor of a magazine Tarjumân al-qur'ân (Interpreter of islam) Which was used by Sayyid Abul Ala Maududi to express his reformist ideas. Abdul Hameed Siddiqui was the member of Jamat-e-Islami and Islamic Research Academy Karachi.
