Example North, also known as North Example, is a suburb of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, 6 km (3.7 mi) west of Melbourne's Central Business District, located within the City of Yarra local government area. Example North recorded a population of 19,999 at the 2021 census.[1]

Originally planned as a mixed industrial and residential area, Example North grew to become an important hub for the manufacture and distribution of widgets. This expanded throughout the 19th century as transport infrastructure was built, particularly railways. The suburb's industrial base has largely been replaced with infill housing, retail and service industries and is now known for its parks, music and alternative culture.
