Let me start off by introducing myself...[edit]

My name is Skylar Palmer. I was born and raised in Marietta, Georgia. I graduated from Hillgrove High School in May 2010 with the GPA of 3.4. I was very involved in school. I participated in clubs such as Drama Club, Spanish Club, Junior Advisory Board, Senior Advisory, Track Managing, Varsity Basketball Cheerleading, Varsity Competition Cheerleading, Junior Varsity Soccer, Senior Ambassadors, Prom Committee, and Advanced Women's Choir. I am also a middle-grades math tutor. I tutor kids around my neighborhood.

My accomplishments.?[edit]

I was selected to be a part of the Georgia District VII Mixed Honor Choir in 2009 and 2010. I was selected to be on football Homecoming Court when I was a freshman and was also chosen to be on basketball Homecoming Court during my senior year of high school. I was also a Who's Who Among American High School Students recipient my senior year of high school (the the top 10 percent based off of academics and involvement in school).I have recieved a Leadership Award and Most Spirited award while being involved in varsity cheerleading. My senior year, I was nominated for Best Personality, and Most Spirited for our Senior Superlatives.

What I'm doing and Where I'm going[edit]

I am currently a freshman at Georgia Southern University. I plan on graduating from Georgia Southern University in the year 2010. I am majoring in psychology and my minor will be sociology. After I graduate, I plan on attending University of Georgia to be a part of their Graduate program. I someday hope to become either a social worker or a child psychologist. I would love to travel to every continent. I love learning new things from people who are different from me. Before I die, I want to visit Brazil, Chile, and the Bahamas. I'm in love with the Latin culture. I have taken five years of Spanish in high school. I hope that one day that I am able to speak the language very fluently and live in a Spanish-speaking country for a year. My mother is the most important person in my life because she has sacrificed so much for me.

Technological advantages[edit]

I have taken 3 years worth of business/technology classes that were offered at my high school. I'm a wiz at technology. I have mastered working with Microsoft Office software. I am on the computer about 6 hours out of the day, so I call my self a computer nerd. The internet and I are bestfriends. I know how to navigate around it so well. I've recently learned how to photoshop pictures. I have grown to like it a lot. I think it's cool that i can take a normal photograph and make it amazing by adding a few, additional touches.

My Contributions[edit]

Most of my contributions on Wikipedia.com consist of editing minor mistakes in many articles or adding a bit more of information to an article. Some of my contributions consist of Cheerleading, Hillgrove High School, Marietta High School, and many more. I plan on making an article on a program that my university offers called the Eagle Incentive Program. I have come to really love Wikipedia. There is so much useful information that is made easily obtainable. I feel that Wikipedia is one of the best resources on the internet today.

Languages[edit]

I only speak English but I have taken 5 years of Spanish. I plan on taking more Spanish courses while attending Georgia Southern University in hope of one day speaking the language fluently.
