Deidra Candice Crews (born 19__) is an American internal medicine and nephrology physician, Professor of Medicine at Johns Hopkins University, Associate Vice Chair of Medicine for Diversity and Inclusion, Associate Director for Research Development in the Johns Hopkins Center for Health Equity, and Director of the Doctoral Diversity Program in the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. She is jointly appointed in the Johns Hopkins School of Nursing, and is a faculty member in the Welch Center for Prevention, Epidemiology and Clinical Research and Center on Aging and Health. Her research focus is disparities in the care and outcomes of chronic kidney disease, examining the contribution to kidney disease of social determinants of health including poverty and access to healthful foods to disparities. She studies the timing, setting, and preparation for initial dialysis kidney replacement therapy among vulnerable groups.

Crews received her M.D. from Saint Louis University School of Medicine in 2003 and her M.Sc. from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health in __. She completed a medical residency and both research and clinical fellowships in nephrology at the Johns Hopkins Hospital.
