Point of View, a Half-Life mod, is played from the perspective of a Xen alien scientist , or more specifically, a Vortigaunt named Xonxt. The game starts as humans invade Xen and capture the XTBS, which is an important piece of Xen technology. The game follows this Vortigaunt's journey as it attempts to recapture this device.

The game emphasises how the Vortigaunts' version of technology is self-modification, much like the Zerg in StarCraft. The story is told through not only the events in the game as they are shown to the player, but through journal entries Xonxt records as events are witnessed. The player eventually wields four different Xen weapons, and starts out with the ability to siphon health from enemies as a long-range attack, and a close-range melee attack.

You have been Gordon Freeman, Adrian Shephard and Barney Calhoun. And what did you do during all that time? You killed all those poor Xen aliens!

POV - Point of View is a single player only Half-Life mod for the first-person shooter computer game Half-Life where you will play as a Alien Slave/Vortigaunt scientist named Xonxt.

You are currently working in an experiment, the XTBS (Xen Techno Biologic Sphere). The story unfolds as you play the game. It is told through Xonxt's journal entries, using a popup text screen that pauses the game while the player reads it. You can read the entries or ignore them (an icon appears when a new entry is available).

Humans will try to kill you, Xen forces will ignore or attack you and you will have to survive through all this. Friends will now be your enemies and enemies your friends now that you will play as an Alien Slave...

Team[edit]

Point of View was made by a team consisting of designers, modellers and voice actors from Portugal and Italy. This team has also made a first Half-Life mod called Azure Sheep where the player can play as Barney Calhoun and also features some characters from Azure Sheep.
