Rgbarlow is Richard (Rick) G. Barlow, and I was among the early practitioners of Loyalty Marketing, even before that term came to be the most widely accepted name for direct marketing programs which cultivated customers through the use of recognition and reward and based on tracking individual customer purchase behavior. My company, Frequency Marketing, Inc. (FMI), was founded in 1981 and served a wide variety of clients, including The Sheraton Corporation, P&G, Verizon, American Express, and Best Buy. We provided a 100% outsource solution, from strategy and program design through software and member (customer) services. In 1990, I created Colloquy, the first Loyalty Marketing newsletter, which continues to represent the single most comprehensive source of information on Loyalty Marketing programs and strategies. I was active in the company as CEO and as publisher of Colloquy until I sold it in 2002, to Alliance Data Systems and retired to pursue other interests. I knew (and know) personally many of the marketing executives who pioneered the use of Loyalty Marketing in their industries, and I was a part of defining the concepts, terminology and standards for the practice of this now widespread marketing phenomenon.RGB (talk) 06:55, 1 April 2009 (UTC)
