Higurashi no Naku Koro ni[edit]
The initial game that "07th Expansion" worked on after its launch was the Leaf Fight original card game. After that, they started making the first installment of the Higurashi no Naku Koro ni sound novel, his younger brother was redrafting "The Hinamizawa Bus Stop." He started up 07th Expansion, and they initially worked on a fan-made collectible card game for the video game Leaf Fight.
所』を改稿して、同様に弟である時火らと共にサウンドノベル第1弾『ひぐらしのなく頃に』を制作開始。「Leaf Fight」のオリジナルカードの絵柄を描いていた経験もあり、原画も自分自身で担当した。二足の草鞋を履くことになった理由について、『ひぐらし』を作る以前に「別のサウンドノベルのシナリオ」を担当する事になったが、イラスト担当に逃げられてしまい、企画そのものが潰れたからと述べている[2]。
当初、3作品目くらいまでは反応がほとんど見られなかったが、第一作『鬼隠し編』の体験版をホームページで無料公開したことによりネット上で話題になる。その後、『ファウスト』にて小説を発表する。現在は公務員を退職し、専業ライターとなっている。
『ひぐらしのなく頃に解』と改題した第5話からは、突然に周囲からの期待度が上がり、コミックマーケットでは「島中」から「シャッター前」となり、委託販売においても「事前予約」となり、スタッフにとってはプレッシャーになったという。

Gail Bates (born December 24, 1945) is a member of the Maryland House of Delegates. She was selected to replace Robert Kittleman in the Maryland House of Delegates in February 2002 when Kittleman was selected to replace Chris McCabe in the Maryland State Senate.[1]
In the 2002 election, Bates defeated Democrats Walter E. Carson and Tony McGuffin to maintain her seat.[2] in 2006, District 9A would be represented by two delegates. She won again along with fellow Republican Warren E. Miller, when they defeated Democrat David Leonard Osmundson.[3]

Bates graduated from the University of Maryland in 1968 with a B.S. in Education. She later took courses at UMBC.
Early Career[edit]
Bates was a Mathematics and home economics teacher in Anne Arundel County from 1968-73. She then served as an office manager for H&R Block from 1976-80. In 1980, she held a position as a tax supervisor for Mark Buckley, C.P.A. In 1983 until 1984 she was a manager for the Records and Tax Department of the Maryland Farm Bureau. Since 1984, she has been a sole proprietor as a Certified Public Accountant. She served as an assistant to the Howard County Executive from 1991–1998 and was Chief of Staff for Delegate Donald E. Murphy in District 12A from 1999 until 2002.
Bates has been an active member of different organizations such as the Howard County Republican Club, the Maryland Federation of Republican Women, the Howard County Republican Central Committee, which she served as Treasurer from 1980 until 1984, the Howard County Chamber of Commerce, the Maryland Association of Certified Public Accountants, and the Howard County Republican Women, serving as president since 2001.
She was a board member of the Howard County Chapter of the American Red Cross from 1996 until 1999. She has served with the Christian Jail Ministry since 1997 and the Howard County Farm Bureau since 1998. She has been the Treasurer of the Howard County Tourism Council since 2004. She is a member of the Therapeutic Horsemanship Association and received the Life Achievement Award from the Howard County Republican Central Committee in 1990.

As a member of the Maryland General Assembly, Bates serves on the Appropriations Committee, the Joint Committee on Children, Youth, and Families, and the Special Joint Committee on Pensions.
As a conservative, Bates has spent much of her time working to amend the Maryland Constitution to define marriage as the union between a man and a woman.[4]
