KMG chair Kailash Sirohiya arrested from Kantipur premises A police team led by SSP Sanuram Bhattarai and SP Rabindra Regmi from the Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office arrested Sirohiya following an investigation into allegations of dual citizenship. Earlier today, Dhanusha District Court had approved the arrest of Sirohiya for further investigation into citizenship offences. The arrest warrant was issued after Indrajit Mahato of Sarlahi filed a complaint at the District Police Office, Dhanusha. The complaint accused Sirohia of holding multiple citizenships, a violation under the Nepal Citizenship Act, 2063. It has been learnt that Sirohiya will be taken to Dhanusha today itself.

Kami Rita Sherpa scales Mt Everest for 30th time breaking own record Legendary climber Kami Rita Sherpa has scaled Mt Everest for the second time in the season, breaking his own record of most successful ascents of the highest peak. "This morning at 7:49am, Kami Rita Sherpa successfully summited the world's highest mountain Mount Everest for an incredible 30th time," Tashi Lakpa Sherpa, Chief Executive Officer at 14 Peaks Expedition, said. This is the Kami Rita's second summit of the world's highest peak in 10 days. "He has scaled Everest on May 12 for the 29th time," Tashi Lakpa said. Chief of the Expedition Monitoring and Facilitation Filed Office at the base camp Khimlal Gautam also confirmed that Kami Rita reached the summit point of Mt Everest making the most successful ascents of the highest peak.
