User:Pseudodoxia

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

New editor, longtime Wikipedia user. Interests include (but certainly are not limited to): the physical sciences, ancient history, world mythologies and religions, and Western classical music.

The username literally means "false opinions" (which I wish to dispel), and it is a reference to Thomas Browne's delightfully pedantic work Pseudodoxia Epidemica, which refutes the mistaken notions that the heart is located on the left side of the torso and that Hannibal carved his way through the Alps using the corrosive power of vinegar, among many others.
