Guavas are the fruits of the guava tree, Psidium guajava. Several related trees in the Myrtaceae family with edible fruits from the New World are commonly known by by names which include the term "guava". The term "guava" appears to derive from the Arawak guayabo "guava tree", via the Spanish guayaba.

  • Psidium, the guava genus and its species, especially:
    • Psidium guajava, the common guava of international commerce, widely grown and naturalized in the tropics
    • Psidium cattleianum, strawberry guava, purple guava, cattleya guava, invasive in Hawaii, New Zealand, and Australia
    • Psidium friedrichsthalium, Costa Rican guava, cultivated in Central America and Colombia
  • Acca sellowiana, pineapple guava, cultivated on a limited scale
  • Ugni molinae, Chilean guava, cultivated on a limited scale in Chile
