PHAM VIET DUNG (犯越勇) is a long-term vandal from Vietnam whose first account was blocked for WP:CIR in 2017. Since then, with a peak of activity in 2020 but continuing at some level into 2023, he has been disruptively editing articles about television and, to a lesser extent, spaceflight and K-pop, apparently using Wikipedia as a webhost for writing about fictional television broadcasts. Pham edits from IP addresses almost always geolocating to Vietnam, though occasionally through proxies, and user accounts with some variation of his real name; he seems to have little or no English proficiency but has never posted a coherent sentence in Vietnamese either. His unconstructive edits take the following forms:

  • Undesirable minor formatting changes to lists and tables
  • Addition of non-sequitur nonsense into article text (Example)
  • Insertion of fictitious entries into lists of television programming and actors (Example)
  • Creation of nonsensical pages in draftspace that look like test edits, usually with titles and page content referencing the fictional shows he adds to lists and articles (known titles listed below)
  • Hijacking of pages to change the meaning (Example), in this case, adding himself as an actor, attempting to change a British series to an American one (even though the American Network is a defunct Mexican channel), and replacing the episode names with the titles of whole television series, both real and fictional

It is recommended that affected pages be protected with a silver bucket, as the user will reinsert his reverted edits for hours on end.
