This is a Wikipedia volunteer editor page.  My name is Paine Ellsworth, and I'm glad you're here! In "real life" I am a writer, and under a pen name I've enjoyed some success. I sometimes get busy, so I can edit Wikipedia only sporadically. I'm usually not away for long, because I really love to edit this encyclopedia!

Isn't our world astounding?  Here's something that amazes me... It's awesome to me that we live on a world, our Earth, that moves at high speed (more than 100,000 km/hr) all the while it circles a star we call the Sun!  And what's even more astonishing is the fact that our Sun zooms around the center of the Milky Way galaxy at even a much higher speed!  (914,400 km/hr!)  And it takes us and all the other planets and the whole Solar System with it!  Isn't the Cosmos absolutely breathtaking?  Here is some comical relief!

I came across one of the most important and profound "universal-oriented" pieces that I have ever read, and I want to share it with you! The "WikiProject that counters systemic bias" page vividly reflects the intense challenge set before Wikipedia, as well as the daring determination and insight of its founders, administrators and all the editors of this growing global reference work.  In just a brief, few words this page very skillfully cuts to the chase.  Wikipedia is a brilliant and elegant effort to bring together a very complex world.  Thank you, Jimbo!

Hey!  I just found out that I was Time magazine's "Person of the Year" for 2006!  I edited Wikipedia (on occasion as an anon-IP) way before then!  (If you contributed to Wikipedia back then, you were "Person of the Year", too!)

That's the third time in my life that I've been honored as Time's Person of the Year.  It happened in 2003, because I'm an old soldier (in-country 1971).  And I was PotY waay back in 1966, because I just happen to be a baby boomer!

Please feel welcome here at Wikipedia!  We need good, dedicated editors who are willing to help make this encyclopedia better and better.  So, if you haven't yet opened up a free "editor's" account, then please consider doing so.  There are many benefits to having your own account under the username of your choice.  Whether you open an account or not, you are always welcome to come here to edit, to learn, to instruct, and to wonder!  Wonder like I do at the awesome knowledge found on the pages of Wikipedia!

Thank you very much for surfing here.  I sincerely hope that your experience with by far the largest and greatest encyclopedia in the world, Wikipedia, is as good as it can possibly be!  Here's wishing the best of everything to you and yours!

Happy days *and*...
     Starry starry nights !

Indelibly yours,
Paine Ellsworth
