Arkansas State Police

The official state police of Arkansas, ASP was founded in the October of 1935 when Governor Junius Marion Futrell and the Arkansas General Assembly signed into law Act 120, known as the Chrisp-Carter Bill.

The first men and women to join the organization were called Rangers. With the passage of time, however, they would come to be known as Troopers.
