Torpedo Galaxy FC formally known as FC Torpedo Aylesbury are an English amatuer football club from the town of Aylesbury. Having had a very strong first season Torpedo Aylesbury finished second place and were promoted to Division One

Founder Doug Haines who managed the club in its first season and to its highest ever season stepped down from manager to concentrate more on the playing side of this career, Nik Bell took the reigns for the forthcoming season and task of guiding FC Torpedo Aylesbury to back to back promotions

Summary of Torpedos Brief History[edit]

2008-2009 Season SLN Combined Sunday League Division 2[edit]

Torpedo Aylesbury' original home colors

Torpedo Aylesbury became well know throughout the league not only for their flowing attcking football but for their pink kits, no other team in the leagues are brave enough or have the Summer Bay bodies to pull pink off, this is also an advantage as Torepdo Aylesbury had no need to have an away kit

As well as finishing 2nd in the league in their first competetive season they entered two cup competitions, The Chris Payne Throphy and Berks and Bucks FA Sunday Junior Throphy. The club didnt play to the best of their abilities and were eliminated in the first round but faired alot better in The Berks & Bucks FA Sunday Throphy being eliminated in the fourth round

2009-2010 Season SLN Combined Sunday League Division 1[edit]

After a successful first season Torpedo strengthened the team with the signings of Paul Strong, Tom Phipps and Richard Brown, hopes were high for another succesful season but due to short numbers on match day and a bit of poor form towards the end of the season a mid table finish was a solid result and something to build on for the 2010/11 season, most importantly Torpedos finished about arch rivals Grenson who managed to survive relegation just!!!!

In cup competitions Torpedo didn't fair too well and went out of early rounds in each cup entered

Changes brought in by manager Nik Bell was to make Phillip Muston captain and Doug Haines vice-captain due to long term injures to both Ben Cousens and Rob Joel

2010-2011 Season SLN Combined Sunday League Division 1[edit]

During the summer break an emergency meeting was called due to rumours being that Chinese businessman had made a bid to buy the club for a reported £1.50 only to be put off minutes later when was told that star players Phil Muston, Rob Joel and Nik Bell where in South Africa on trial with Orlando Pirates

Sadly for the 3 lads their attitudes towards the locals didnt go down too well and were soon shipped back to Aylesbury faster then Strongy got his kit off in prison

With the Club in desperate need of investment local entrepreneur Bruce Steers came up with the cash to save the club from the brink of exstinction, the fans joy went to sorrow, soon after the takeover it was announced that the club will change its name and the colours of both the home and away kit with the pink kit being kept as only to be used in European competitions

The newly named Torpedo Galaxy find themselves placed in Division one and have once again been put up again arch rivals Grenson. Back in charge for a second stint, Doug Haines picked a captain for the forthcoming season, the bi-curious, emotional rollercoaster Tom Leathers has been given the armband.

At the start of the 2010-2011 season Haines controversially chose the Bell (Weatherspoons) in Aylesbury town centre as the post match watering hole. This choice was not well received by core factions of the team and after one game Haines surrendered to peer pressure and reinstated the Bucks Yeoman, much to Paul strong's delight.

Rivalries[edit]

Torpedo Aylesbury deepest rivalry was formerly with the now defunct Thame Athletic FC of the SLN Combined Sunday League Division two, the reason for this rivalry is because a large percentage of Torpedos squad player for Thame Athletic during 2007-2008 season before leaving to joining the newly established Torpedos in summer of 2008, other rivalries for Torpedos would include Grenson who are a very physical team that pipped Torpedo to the Division 2 title in 2008/09 season and with both these teams being promoted the Division 1 this rivalry looks set to continue

Home Ground[edit]

Torpedo Aylesbury play their home games at Bedgrove playing fields after previously playing their home games at Fairford Leys from when the club was established in 2008/09 season. Talk was rife in the summer of 2009 about a move of home grounds to Stoke Mandiville but discussions broke down at an early stage of negotiating and Torpedo Aylesbury remained at Fairford Leys playing fields for the 2009/10 season

2010/11 season with a change of name came a change of home pitch for Torpedo Galaxy who will now play all their home games at Bedgrove playing fields
