Summary[edit]
This article talks about the relationship between technology and society and the effects they have on each other. The increased development of technology since the prehistoric period has made changes to society in its process. Being able to influence society in many aspects, technology is able to leave positive effects on society by bringing people together and being able to help students in their path to easier learning. Although there are bad effects as well such as subjecting frequent internet users to comparing themselves and their self-worth with certain standards present today. This can affect a user mentally and physically in a negative way. Technology and society are inseparable as with a change in society comes endless technological advancements. With these advancements to technology it has left a negative impact on the environment as well which in turn affects society as well. Technology also needs frequent funding for support, such two ways being governmental or private.[edit]

In the International section of the article under sociological factors and effect, a citation is needed, and so I found this source that talks about three listed points. Ubiquity: 21st Century information technology revolution. [1]. This article should be a reliable source as it is a .org site. The site also goes more in depth about the factors that make the world feel like a smaller place. It also cites the sentence "Due mostly to mass transportation and mass media, the world seems to be a much smaller place, due to the following" that uses similar terminology from the website.[edit]

My article is called Technology and society. The main point of this article is the relati9onship between technology and society and how they affect each other in both negative and positive aspects. Mainly how they affect each other after evolving over time as well as their effect on the environment and what is needed to support the ever growing technology. The main problems of the article are how there are many citations that could be added and how it is written as more of a personal essay or reflection. It may also include original research which cannot be cited. This topic was worth undertaking because it still provides a good amount of information on the topic but still has areas of improvement. The technological and societal standpoints are mainly how they affect each other and how they have already affected each other in the past. The ethical standpoints include the positive and negatives ways that technology and society affect one another. The audience for this article may be anyone who is directly involved in the development in technology.[edit]

The article called "Technology and society" that I am working on has many errors that need fixing. One such error occurs in the section called Pre-historical, the first sentence did not have a citation although it was copied directly from a source which also makes it plagiarized. the sentence in question is "The importance of stone tools, circa 2.5 million years ago, is considered fundamental in the human development in the hunting hypothesis." After searching for a source I found it most likely came from a book called Anarcho-primitivism on page 214. To change this I will add the source in and redo the previous sentence. The citation [2] will be added in after the redone sentence which will now be, "2.5 million years ago, stone tools marked what is now considered a fundamental human development." Another thing to look at and revise would be in the "Modern examples and effects" section of the article in which the start of one paragraph has no reliable source to back it up even after an extensive search. Therefore, the information may possibly be made up or otherwise called original research, and needs to be removed. The sentence that I am referencing is: "According to the statistics, in the early beginnings of 1990s the use of Internet in schools was, on average, 2–3%." At the end of the same paragraph is also a sentence that needs citing but this one does have a reliable source that I found to back it. "E-learning system, collaboration of students on project based learning, and technological skills for future results in motivation of students." This sentence can be cited from a book and doesn't need any other changing as it does not simply copy and paste the text. [3]. I also found a section of information from the article that was not marked as citation needed but clearly does. "Consequently, the sources of funding for large technological efforts have dramatically narrowed, since few have ready access to the collective labor of a whole society, or even a large part. It is conventional to divide up funding sources into governmental (involving whole, or nearly whole, social enterprises) and private (involving more limited, but generally more sharply focused) business or individual enterprises." Most of this sentence in the section labeled "funding" under "economics and technological development", is taken straight from page 216 of the book called Anarcho-primitivism. the citation to include would be: [2]. This is the same book that I also sourced for the first problem I mentioned. As for the text included in the article it will have to be revised. A possible revision may be: "Technological efforts have had reduced funding as it cannot have access to all of societies labors, and the same funding is divided, with the other half going to the government business or individual enterprises." This whole article has plenty to improve on and what I've listed may only be a small portion of the revisions that need to be made.[edit]

My article was not peer reviewed but here are some more changes I could make. Another thing I've found is that under the subsection "choice" under the section "construction and shaping" the first few lines can be sourced from the book called "Anarcho-primitivism" [2] that I have also previously referenced in other sections. The reference of this book is quite frequent and seeing how the words are directly copied it is most likely just plagiarized into the article. Citing this directly would stop plagiarism. The words taken from the book are as follows: "Society also controls technology through the choices it makes. These choices not only include consumer demands; they also include: the channels of distribution, how do products go from raw materials to consumption to disposal; the cultural beliefs regarding style, freedom of choice, consumerism, materialism, etc.; the economic values we place on the environment, individual wealth, government control, capitalism, etc." The same words can be found on page 222 of the book.[edit]

These are the 4 images I would include in the article. The primitive tools are to show what technology had started out as before it evolved as it did. Kickstarter is used as a n example of one of the many ways people can use crowdfunding and get money that way instead of from the government. The polluted base it to show the environmental aspect of technology and how it continues to get worse. The flax mill is to show how technology suddenly started to skyrocket and society changed with it.
