I am an Emily Carr student in Fine Arts and am primarily interested in drawing, Wheel throwing ceramics and working with materials in a practical hands on way. I enjoy learning and reading about past and present societies, philosophies, theories and practices. I am a feminist and social justice seeker, I love spending time outdoors in the mountains skiing, snowshoeing, hiking, climbing and biking.
I am taking Magnolia Pauker's Intro to Feminine, gender and cultural theory class which is a third year three credit course. For this class the final project includes creating a page for a topic that has little information written about it on Wikipedia that could be due to a bias or the gender binary. I plan to expand a Canadian woman artists page to help equal out the 90% male editors versus 10% female editors on Wikipedia.
