LAAR MUSEUM AND MOLVI HAJI AHMED LIBRARY


The beautiful building just opposite to the officein deputy commissioner, houses "LAAR MUSEUM" which was conceived by late Muhammad soomar shaikh and other heritage lovers of town in 1980. Its ground floor is exclusively meant for the museum.

Majority of the artifacts on display was collected by soomar shaikh he collected it from diffrerent parts of sindh including major part Badin, tando muhammad khan, matli , thatta etc. Professor Abdul Mallah said that: Shaikh collected historical items from the soomra, mughal, kalhora periods and preserved them for future generation

Molvi Haji Ahmed Mallah established a library in 2004 , situated at 1st floor of that building.More than 500 books are included in this library, which are present in different languages like Sindhi, English, Urdu. Books written by poet and anthropologist shaikh soomar on different topics are also included in this library. Professor Abdul Mallah said; he had written 447 books on diffrent topics but only 65 of them have been published.
