Chris is the founder of the Lakes Area GMRS Repeater Group, which is the largest GMRS repeater cooperative in the United States. The Group was started in 2002 with one repeater in Wisconsin, and continued to expand into now eight states in the Midwest. All Group members and repeater owners (called Advisors) cooperate by sharing resources of GMRS repeaters and equipment. Overseen by a Coordinator (which Chris was from 2002-2007) he or she conducts daily business. There are no dues or meetings in the LAG Group, everything is done via e-mail and BBS communication.

Chris has been part of the GMRS community in other ways. He was part of the founding members of the Personal Radio Association, a group overseeing Part 15 and Part 95 communications. He has also worked closely with many other repeater groups across the country in establishing simple, easy, and non-burecratical cooperative radio systems.

Chris continues to be active in GMRS and is currently a reigonal manager for the LAG Group in Illinois, Indiana, and Iowa.
