Hello World![edit]
I'm a german user, and therefore contribute to Wikipedia mostly in the german part of Wikipedia.
But I often use the english and spanish projects as well; mostly to compare differences or find out more details on a certain topic.
And, yes, even have contributed some bits here and there- mostly simple things like adding small details or checking Interwiki links.
I also have started to upload some of my own photographic works to MediaWiki.
My interests include all kinds of sciences, computers, electronics, biology/medicine, places all over the world (I love travelling), taking photos, reading, (almost) any kind of music and movies from all parts of the world. When I prepare for travelling I use to learn at least some words of the other language - it's a form of courtesy and respect.
I learned english at school (9 years till my final thesis), and from books, lyrics and the internet.
Learning spanish started after a visit to Madrid in 1999; It was an annoying experience not to communicate properly to such friendly people. So I forced myself to learn about 1.500 words in just 4 months.
Met a lot of people to talk to on other travels and today my closest friends are from Cuba, Spain and Venezuela.
