Article that needs your help[edit]

I am really glad you are up for the battle. (It is going to be a battle, for sure!) Do you mind if I tweak your proposal by, for example, fleshing out some of the details and improving the English? This might help it be more persuasive. You can always edit back anything I do. GeometryGirl (talk) 22:13, 12 September 2009 (UTC)

Yes ofcourse be my guest!!--Judo112 (talk) 06:13, 13 September 2009 (UTC)
Awesome. GeometryGirl (talk) 14:25, 13 September 2009 (UTC)

BTW, I have also made a proposal recently here. Do you mind giving your opinion? GeometryGirl (talk) 21:55, 13 September 2009 (UTC)

Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/The_Jetty_Journals[edit]

At this AFD, you indicated that the sources listed show notability and that the article should be kept. Would you mind returning to the discussion and explaining your rationale a little more. As far as I can tell, second source is the author's own website, which isn't independent or necessarily reliable. The first is IMDb, and doesn't actually mention The Jetty Journals at all. I'd appreciate a little more detail. AniMatedraw 00:14, 13 September 2009 (UTC)

Proposed deletion of Luara Hayrapetyan[edit]

Proposed deletion of Dropa[edit]

The article Dropa has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Subject of article exists only on unreliable sources (such as geocities websites and in Sir John Mandeville's Travels).

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Repost of Dropa[edit]

A tag has been placed on Dropa requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia, because it appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion process. If you can indicate how it is different from the previously posted material, place the template {{hangon}} underneath the other template on the article and put a note on the page's discussion page saying why this article should stay. Administrators will look at your reasoning before deciding what to do with the page. If you believe the original discussion was unjustified, please contact the administrator who deleted the page or use deletion review instead of continuing to recreate the page. Thank you. Multiple !votes in AFD[edit]

Although AFD is not a vote, it is customary to provide only one specific keep or delete opinion. Further dicsussion can be prefixed with "comment", and if you change your mind, your previous !vote is stricken through like this. Regards. -- Whpq (talk) 14:18, 18 September 2009 (UTC)

i guess not when it is re-listed. then it is a "new discussion".--Judo112 (talk) 14:19, 18 September 2009 (UTC)
Even when it is relisted, it's only one !vote with subsequent comments not having a keep or delete opinion prefixed. -- Whpq (talk) 14:34, 18 September 2009 (UTC)

Sorry[edit]

Now I see that someone changed it to Death of ... then back to Annie Le...then I changed it and you changed it. If I knew it was changing so much, I wouldn't have done a thing. I just looked at the talk page and thought it was decided. But for now, homocide of... is ok to me. Suomi Finland 2009 (talk) 22:21, 19 September 2009 (UTC)

Rederiet tables[edit]

My idea was to make everything clear yesterday, but I did not have time to make it clear, therefore, I left it as it was. I had intended to make clear it later, or that someone else could meanwhile continue to fill in the table. It's a fairly time-consuming work. You should have given me more time before you deleted it. It was NOT graffiti, if you think so! /Hollac16 (talk) 08:31, 3 September 2009 (UTC)

Straw poll on reliable sources for Eurovision articles[edit]

The second RfC on sourcing for Eurovision articles has now being running for several weeks, you can view it at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Eurovision#RfC on reliable sources for Eurovision articles. In order to help gauge the spread of opinion and draw conclusions from this discussion a straw poll has been started at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Eurovision#Straw poll. All project members are encouraged to read the RfC thoroughly and then cast their votes as they see fit. Rationales are still encouraged in the main discussion area above the poll, and participants can add appropriate new sources or options to the poll as they wish. Subheadings in biographies[edit]

Hi. I noticed your edits to Lynette Fromme, which included re-inserting the subheading of "Biography" over a large part of the content. Biographical articles are already biographies and using a subheading called that has been deprecated on Wikipedia because it is redundant and creates unnecessary sectioning. Thought you should know that in case you've made similar changes on articles where it has already been removed. Thanks. Wildhartlivie (talk) 20:42, 14 August 2009 (UTC)

Sorry. See ya.--Judo112 (talk) 16:14, 16 August 2009 (UTC)

Scroll this site down. Rebecka Larzen was first runner up and would indeed have go to Miss Universe, and the Trump Organization said she had all the criteria, but the new delegation in Sweden did not give the approval. http://www.beauland.net/news/2004/04-apr.html —Preceding unsigned comment added by 79.77.162.196 (talk) 21:17, 26 March 2009 (UTC)

Many delegates from the 1970's have never been official winners as well, especially when Året Runt was a low budget magazine. And being a winner was not necessarily a rule to go abroad for beauty pageants, the delegation could pick anyone of the finalists. They were handpicked from the previous year due lack of resources. The format of crowning a winner has never really taken place til it was televised on TV4. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 79.77.162.196 (talk) 17:14, 27 March 2009 (UTC)

Speedy deletion of Samantha Orobator[edit]

A tag has been placed on Samantha Orobator requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because, even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. FAC withdrawn[edit]

I appreciate that you are acting in good faith, but it is best if featured articles are nominated by people who have worked closely on them. In this way, they can give reasoned replies to reviewers and be familiar enough with the sources to act on suggested improvements. Someone who has not worked on the article can not provide this input, so the nomination may continue until opposition to it becomes so overwhelming that the article is failed; this takes away time from reviewers. While the Carl Bildt article is of reasonable quality, it is not yet of featured quality, and principal contributors must be consulted before a nomination, as required in the featured article candidate instructions. You might consider first working the article up through peer review and good article candidacy to prepare for its nomination. SandyGeorgia (Talk) 22:09, 23 January 2009 (UTC)

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. otherlleft (talk) 15:40, 14 October 2008 (UTC)

Speedy deletion of Michael Cornell[edit]

A tag has been placed on Michael Cornell requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. -- Mufka (u) (t) (c) 12:50, 23 October 2008 (UTC)

Proposed deletion of Mayra Rosales[edit]

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Mayra Rosales, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Speedy deletion of "Amandine Bourgeois"[edit]

A page you created, Amandine Bourgeois, has been tagged for deletion, as it meets one or more of the criteria for speedy deletion; specifically, it is about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how they are important or significant, and thus why they should be included in an encyclopedia. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, and the guidelines for biographies in particular.

You are welcome to contribute content which complies with our content policies and any applicable inclusion guidelines. However, please do not simply re-create the page with the same content. You may also wish to read our introduction to editing and guide to writing your first article.

Thank you. DavidWS (contribs) 18:04, 27 November 2008 (UTC)

January 2009[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Thank you for reverting your recent experiment with the page Paris Hilton. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to our encyclopedia. If you would like to experiment further, please use the sandbox. Thank you. I understand that you tried to get the first edit in 2009. In the future, if you want to play around, use the sandbox. Terrillja talk 00:15, 1 January 2009 (UTC)

Based on your recent edits, I suggest that you make constructive edits instead of trying to get "first edits" for 2009 under the guise of making minor edits. Wikipedia is a serious project. Consider this a second warning. ----Ðysepsion † Speak your mind 00:42, 1 January 2009 (UTC)

RfC on reliable sources for Eurovision articles[edit]

A second RfC has been started on sourcing for Eurovision articles, you can view it at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Eurovision#RfC on reliable sources for Eurovision articles. This RfC is critical as it will help determine how current and future Eurovision articles are sourced, and as much participation as possible is needed for a consensus to develop. You are being notified as you are listed as an active user of Wikipedia:WikiProject Eurovision, and hence the results of this RfC could have a large impact on the articles you edit.
