I haven't updated this for a while, and it seems to be causing some interest, so here goes...

I'm still a graduate student at the University of Melbourne, and I also lecture, but at another institution. My interest in Wikipedia, now, can be summed up as one of horrified curiosity: the kind usually reserved for a particuarly bad car wreck that you just can't help gawking at. So I gawk occasionally, though I avoid contributing, as I do to particularly bad car wrecks. Although I noticed that the Wiki co-founder guy who was on a promotional talk tour of Australia recently said pretty much what I tell all my students: do not source this place. I'm left with people, who, fortunately, are actually much more worthy of belief than gods or users...

(And I'm starting to get the ugly impression that the vandals on this website, generally, and I'm including here even the ones expressing a point of view I passionately disagree with, might have a point.)
