Adelusola Ebenezer Femi (born 27 September 1990), popularly known as Olakira which literally translates to “Shining Star" in Swahili, is a Nigerian [[African Popular Music|Afro Pop]] recording artist. He records mostly in Yoruba and English. Formerly known as Ebenjazz, he has produced and worked with musicians including Dotman and Patoranking. In 2020, he released the single In My Maserati[1] while signed to U&I Music.

Early life[edit]

Adelusola Ebenezer Adefemi was born in Ogun State.[2]. He studied Mass Communication at Moshood Abiola Polytechnic.[3]. He also has with a diploma in Desktop publishing. He was influenced by his environment, and upon discovering his musical inclination, he went on to attend a music school. He writes and composes his songs and also plays a variety of musical instruments - drums, talking drums, keyboard, guitar, and saxophone. While working as a producer, and continuing his music education through a local church, he met a record label executive of U & I Music, with which he signed a record deal in 2018.

Music career[edit]

He made his debut into the Nigerian music scene in June 2018 with two singles, “Hey Lover” and “Flirty Signal”[4]. Both singles garnered over 3 million plays on YouTube[5], Spotify, and Soundcloud. He is currently signed with U&I Music.

2019:"Wakanda Jollof EP"[edit]

On July 12, 2019, Nigerian singer, Olakira released his 7-track EP, ‘Wakanda Jollof’.[6]. It housed singles such as Aya Mi (My Love),Money Groove, Wakanda Jollof, Till Dawn, amongst others. Pulse.ng rated the project 5.9/10[7]

2020[edit]

He released two singles, In My Maserati [8] & LoveSick,[9] in 2020. He mentioned that he was working with Clarence Peters on a video release for LoveSick. [10]
