‘’’SwissFoundations’’’ is a network of charitable foundations based in Switzerland and Liechtenstein. In 2014 the network included 107 foundations[1] among the over 12,000 Swiss foundations[2]

The network is an association which was established in 2001 by 11 Swiss foundations aiming at supporting and developing foundations in Switzerland. The members of the organization are charitable foundations based in Switzerland and in Liechtenstein with a patrimony; foundations which rely on other grant-makers can not become member of the association.

According to SwissFoundation, its members in 2011 have supported other organizations with 210 million CHF; an amount which corresponds to around 20% of the estimated amount of grant-making in Switzerland.

Directors of SwissFoundations:

  • Antonia Jann (2012-)
  • Beat von Wartburg (2006-2011)
  • Benno Schubiger (2001-2005)

The network connects foundations to experts and other Swiss and international organizations, it supports its members in the establishment of a foundation and in foundation management, it provides news and information, and it organizes events and training.

The network has developed a standardized application form Every year SwissFoundation produces an annual report (narrative report and summary)[3].
