PlayScore 2 is a sight-playing, music OCR and scorewriter program, developed, published and distributed by Organum Consulting based in Hinksey Hill Farm, Oxford (UK).

PlayScore originally appeared as PlayScore Lite and PlayScore Pro on Android and iOS in 2016. It could play single pages of music, and export them as MIDI and MusicXML. PlayScore 2 was released for iOS in January 2019 and in December 2020 for Android. It is a free download with in-app subscriptions.
Software[edit]
PlayScore is a mobile app that uses optical music recognition to play music based on a photo or scan of a musical score, at a tempo and instrumentation of the user's choosing. To do this it converts the image into a digital musical score in the form of a MIDI file for immediate playback. The results can be exported as MIDI, or as MusicXML to music engraving programs such as Sibelius, Finale, MuseScore and Dorico.
Technology[edit]
Both the iOS and Android version of PlayScore 2 are based on a common engine ReadScoreLib (RSL), which packages up the OMR engine Organum Recognition Technology (ORT) with local language interfaces for PC, Mac, iOS and Android. RSL can be licensed through Organum Ltd. [1]

PlayScore 2 is mainly aimed at students and amateur musicians who want to learn music and improve their sight-reading.
