Theater/theatre/war[edit]

Hi, I can see what you are trying to do with the battleboxes, but "theater" is a US spelling and a lot of the battles you have inserted it into did not involve US forces or involved few of them. This is one reason why we tend to refer to the "Pacific War" instead. Grant | Talk 02:34, 20 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I think "Pacific Front" is rare in English. I'm not sure what the best solution is, but have two suggestions: (1) there was at one time a lot of debate about the name of the Pacific War article, but that name was eventually agreed upon. (2) "Theatre" is used in US English while "theater" is rarely used outside the US. Grant | Talk 02:52, 20 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Deleting the page[edit]

Sure, it's no problem. I tagged it for speedy deletion, so when an admin has a free moment and is working the category, they'll absolutely get it deleted. Philippe 02:24, 22 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Actually, I just noticed that it got deleted already. All gone, no worries. Have a great day! Philippe 02:25, 22 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

block quote formatting[edit]

Thanks for paying attention to the poor formatting of the Dirr quote in Ailanthus altissima. For some reason which I don't really understand, the old wiki markup was producing HTML pre tags instead of p tags, which made the whole quote go on one line with a huge horizontal scrollbar. Although I changed cquote back to quote (as explained in my commit message, and only after reading up on block quote versus pull-quote so I could have some clue about what our style is supposed to be), the problem is gone. Maybe it was the space at the start of the quote (after the vertical bar, before "For most") or one of the other spaces which was causing the problem? Anyway, feel free to keep tweaking or discuss if we still don't have it right. Kingdon 17:17, 24 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Notability of KBMedia Player[edit]

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on KBMedia Player, by Nuttah68 (talk · contribs), another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because KBMedia Player seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting KBMedia Player, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. --Android Mouse Bot 2 17:06, 1 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for looking over the article. I've had a scale diagram added as you requested. If you have time, would you mind looking the article over in case there is anything else you would like to see? Sheep81 23:46, 21 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Glad to hear it. Thank you. Sheep81 01:03, 22 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Old Law Tenements[edit]

Thanks for looking over the article. I am about to add a photo -- I'd been looking around for the right building and found it, finally, Saturday.Robcuny 02:07, 11 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Oops. I left a note on the wrong page -- I was reading your lazy caterer's proof and got distracted. Sorry.

Eadbald[edit]

Thanks for adding the star! Can't believe I forgot; must be getting old. And thanks for the comments and support at the FAC. Mike Christie (talk) 20:41, 29 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I've nominated History of Greenland for featured article review. Haukur 23:05, 10 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Immortal Game[edit]

Glad you found the FPC nomination. I know even less about image editing-- all I do is sift through the wikipedia images and nominate ones that strike my fancy. Good luck (and thanks again for having created the animation in the first place)! Spikebrennan (talk) 22:04, 10 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The Nahuatl article has received a lot of careful attention during the FA review, and the concerns you expressed have also been adressed. Maybe you would care to revisit the article and the nomination?·Maunus· ·ƛ· 06:27, 4 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your response.·Maunus· ·ƛ· 05:36, 6 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
