Toronto Office (Canada)[edit]

in October 2019, B+H Architects signed a lease for an office space in a heritage building in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. B+H Architects is redesigning and renovating the interior of the building. Patrick Fejer is a senior design principal for this renovation for B+H Architect's future office.[1]

The Permanent (Canada Permanent Trust Building) was originally designed by Henry Sproatt.[1]

Recent Canadian Work[edit]

In 2016, B+H Architects completed an project with Hariri Pontarini Architects on the Faculty of Law, Jackman Law Building, for the University of Toronto. This project won a Canadian Architect Award of Excellence, 2013.[2] The project was a renovation and expansion, featuring a LEED Silver certification.[3]

In 2015, B+H Architects worked with with DIALOG to design the AMS Nest (The Nest) for the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. The building cost $107 million. The project was driven by sustainability, and has attained a LEED Platinum certification. [4]

B+H Architects completed the Abilities Centre, in Whitby, Ontario, Canada in 2012.[5]

Sustainability[edit]

B+H Architects have a large interest in sustainable practices. Many of their projects are lead by a sustainable rating system, such as LEED and guidelines from the Canada Green Building Council. The firm also practices preservation in their renovation projects, requiring less demolition, with special consideration with heritage buildings.[6]

Awards and Recognition[edit]

The firm's project for Mohawk College, the Joyce Centre for Partnership & Innovation, was the 2019 recipient of the Awards of Excellence Innovation in Architecture from the Royal Architectural Institute of Canada (RAIC). Located in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, it is one of the largest net-zero buildings in the area.[7]

in 2017, B+H Architects was recognized in the top four for its Markham Stouffville Hospital Redevelopment in the category of Healthcare Design for projects over 25,000 m².[8]

B+H Architects' project for the University of Toronto's Faculty of Law, Jackman Law Building, won a Canadian Architect Award of Excellence, in 2013.[2]

In 2020, B+H Architects was noticed in the Top 50 Architecture Firms in Seattle, by Rethinking The Future (RTF), for their Seattle office in the United States of America.[9].
