The Bill Gatton College of Pharmacy is a pharmacy college which is a part of the East Tennessee State University that is located in Johnson City, Tennessee.

It was named for American entrepreneur and philanthropist Bill Gatton[1].

Academics and accreditation[edit]

Through its six colleges, Midwestern University offers 16 academic programs at two locations. All programs are graduate, and focus on the health professions. The university is regionally accredited by the Higher Learning Commission.[2] Doctoral degree programs include the Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine, Doctor of Dental Medicine, Doctor of Nursing Practice, Doctor of Pharmacy, Doctor of Physical Therapy, and Doctor of Podiatric Medicine, Doctor of Psychology, Doctor of Optometry, and Doctor of Veterinary Medicine.

Several master's degrees are also offered, including the following: Master of Medical Science in Physician Assistant Studies, Master of Occupational Therapy, Master of Speech Language Pathology, Master of Biomedical Sciences, Master of Science in Cardiovascular Science, and a Master of Science in Nurse Anesthesia.


Student Organizations[edit]

There are many student organizations at the Bill Gatton College of Pharmacy. These organizations help better students in the area of their education and provides these students with an opportunity after they graduate from college. These organizations are:[3]

  • Kappa Psi Pharmaceutical Fraternity,
  • National Community Pharmacists Association (NCPA),
  • Phi Delta Chi Fraternity,
  • Rho Chi Pharmaceutical Honor Society,
  • Student National Pharmaceutical Association (SNPhA),
  • Student Society of Health-System Pharmacists (SSHP).
