From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Interop Vendor Alliance (IVA) is an industry-wide[clarification needed] organization of more than 60 software and hardware vendors working to identify and share opportunities to better connect people, data and diverse systems and to jointly market the interoperability solutions of its members.[1][2]

The organization was founded in 2006 to serve as a collaborative forum for developing and sharing common technology models, to conduct scenario-based testing of multivendor solutions and to communicate best practices to customers and partners.

Current members include, among others, AMD, BEA Systems, Cisco Systems, CA, Hitachi, Linspire, Microsoft, NEC, Quest Software, Red Hat, Siemens, Software AG, Sun Microsystems, Turbolinux, and Xandros.[3]

The IVA has developed multiple interoperability labs including Systems management, Centralized directory, Federated identity, Content management, and Office Open XML.
