User:GermanJoe/Recall

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

This page describes my own criteria for a community-based, voluntary recall process, as far as my own administrator activities are concerned. For additional information see Wikipedia:Administrators open to recall.

Talkpage discussion[edit]

Discuss all concerns first, either on my user talkpage or on an appropriate topic-specific noticeboard. Please notify me of threads started on such noticeboards. I'd like a chance to rectify possible mistakes, provide additional information, and present my view of an actual issue. Whereever possible, this stage should be used to resolve the issue in an informal collegial manner.

Requesting a recall[edit]

If an initial talkpage discussion couldn't resolve a problem and general substantial concerns about my administrator activities remain, any four experienced editors in good standing can request a recall with a Request for comment (RfC).

  • "Experienced editors in good standing" should be editors that have been active on Wikipedia during the last 2 years, with at least 2,000 edits and no block during this time.
  • The RfC should provide a succinct clear description of the concern with verifiable evidence in the form of diffs, and state resignation as desired outcome.
  • Requests should solely focus on my activities and conduct as an administrator. My personal opinions and "real life" are not up for public debate.
  • Please notify me immediately when you start such a request for recall.
  • Either initiate a voluntary request for recall or ask for a formal ANI discussion/ARBCOM decision, not both (WP:FORUMSHOP).

As soon as a valid request has been initiated and I was notified, I will suspend any administrator activities.

Invalid requests[edit]

I reserve the right to ignore any request for recall and its results, if the request doesn't meet the listed requirements or was put forward in bad faith. Requests in bad faith include requests that use harassment, personal attacks, canvassing, or similar tactics that are incompatible with a transparent collaborative process. Of course editors initiating such invalid requests are free to pursue formal steps via ANI or ARBCOM instead.

RfC closure and outcomes[edit]

Generally the RfC should be kept open until sufficient feedback from a broad range of editors has been received but no longer than 30 days. As an obviously controversial issue, the RfC should only be closed by one or more uninvolved administrators via Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Requests for closure.

If the RfC ends with a consensus to recall, I will immediately step down as administrator. Depending on the actual situation, I may initiate a formal new RfA nomination after I stepped down or at a later time. As mentioned during my nomination, I will also step down at any time if I believe to have lost the community's trust, regardless of any actual numbers or a request's final outcome.

Notes[edit]

I reserve the right to improve and change this process description, but it will not be changed during an ongoing valid request for recall.
