Soviet-Ukrainian Treaty[edit]

The Soviet-Ukrainian Treaty was a treaty between the parties of the Ukrainian War of Independence 1 and a half months after the wars conclusion with the Treaty of Kharkiv. Whereas the Treaty of Kharkiv simply ended hostilities, the Soviet-Ukrainian Treaty sought to define Ukraines borders and begin the process of normalising relations. The treaty saw the unification of the Ukrainian People's Republic and the West Ukrainian People's Republic into the Republic of Ukraine and the recognition of independence of the Free Territory of Southern Ukraine. It also saw the Soviet Union agree to not attack the newly independent Ukrainian countries.
