I am a PhD student at Politecnico di Milano, actually involved in the field of food packaging, I do most of my research trying to improve commercially available products while studying and designing alternative and innovative ones. Among the different topics of my thesis's work, I am focusing on developing thin, dense, and transparent coating for food packaging application, following the sol-gel process using various chemical compounds (Silica Alkoxides, aluminum alkoxides, etc.) and deposition techniques. Great importance in my work has been given to edible coating as well as the design of personalized modified atmosphere packaging (MAP) with the objective of reduce both packaging and food wastes.

Education

I have a bachelor degree in civil and environmental engineering from University of Study of Parma and a master's degree in materials engineering at the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia.
