In the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, the city of Philadelphia was the dominant cricketing center in the United States. The culture of cricket in this city was advanced by the upperclass families of the day. Many first-class matches were played in Philadelphia and many first-class cricketers got their start there.
Philadelphian Cricketers[edit]
The following gentlemen played first-class cricket for the Philadelphian cricket team. The guidelines of Notability make it clear that individuals playing a sport at the highest level are notable enough for inclusion in Wikipedia.
