- Greg - I have been a Purchasing Agent most of my career and remember purchasing biochemicals from Sigma Chemical. I was intrigued by the introduction and statement of commitment on the cover of the catalogue by Dan Broida including his picture. Frustrated with an order one day, I called and he actually answered. He talked about anything but the problem but seemed to the value the personal contact he had with me as his customer. This was in 1971.
- Howard -User:Hcberkowitz I remember his help when I was first trying biochemistry in high school, probably in 1965 or so. My concern is getting encyclopedic material here. IIRC, he co-developed some of the main medical enzyme assays of the time, with a colleague named Wroblewski. The initial assays required an ultraviolet spectrophotometer with quartz cuvettes and the like, but the second generation could work in a visible light colorimeter. This is long enough ago that I may have mixed up the sequence.
