I have been in EMS since 1990, and have worked for pretty much every conceivable type of EMS service there is, except law enforcement based. I am currently working for a service that is widely considered in the top 5 % of EMS agencies in the US. In my job responsibilities and prior experience, I have been responsible for teaching at all levels of EMS, performing QA/QI functions, coarse coordination, field supervision and command, back country and high angle rescue, and complete revision of several agencies clinical guidelines and Policies/Procedures.

I am widely regarded by my peers as an "EMS geek" (or super geek), keeping myself abreast all facets of the EMS profession, with special focus on street toxicology topics, Body modification, EMS systems, professional development, and educational issues. I have been interviewed for www.emslive.com, National Public Radio, and local newspapers regarding my EMS experiences, and have lectured frequently on a variety of topics.

My main goal is to advance the public understanding of my profession, and therefore promote positive change to my profession through that understanding.
